Relatives have a vacation home in Cape Coral. Looks like we are going for a few weeks. Driving down so we are thinking of getting a few theme park days in on the way by. Unfortunately with the dollar the way it is we are limited to just a couple. So as we are discussing it we both surprised each other and voted for Universal. 15 years ago that would never have happened, my how things have changed.

Have a wonderful time!
Our Orlando vacation preferences have evolved over the years and especially as the kids have gotten older. We split our time equally between Universal and Disney now and really enjoy both for different reasons.

Wow, same page, eh a rare and beautiful thing. :rotfl2:As a diehard Disney fan, I confess to loving time at Universal. Our last 2 trips have been all Disney and yet I felt a distinct tug towards the Dark Side, or perhaps it was the Dark Arts! I wish it was in our budget for this fall..even just Volcano Bay. Sounds like such a cool water park, particularly after dark.

I have to say that if Pandora is not open by November, I am going to wish we'd gone the other way.

Have a great time and say "hi" to the Hogwarts gang for me.

Hi guys
If I wasn't taking my granddaughter this trip I would definitely only be doing U.O.
Oh well there is always 2018 to plan which will be U.O only.
Have a blast!
Hugs Mel

Impressive. I'm just trying to get my dh to plan our family vacation. I've been planning our trips for almost 20 years and I got tired of him either not appreciating the work I put into it or criticizing my plans. This time around I got fed up and told him to plan the trip this time. Every time the kids have an opinion I tell them to talk to dad.

One gets lucky once and awhile! LOL
Not sure what has changed over the years. In the early 2000's we were all Disney, all the time. Even came close to getting DVC. For me planning months out for rides and eating was getting to be a pain. Winging it is our style, getting harder to do at the house of the Mouse these days.
