I plan on driving out this year so that on the way we stop and see family in Alabama. Lat time, October 2004, I was able to rent a minivan that sat 7 comfortably with plenty of luggage room, I think it was a mountaineer or such. Anyhow that cost about $500 for 10 days with unlimited mileage; I did use AAA and got the insurance waived and a bit of a discount. What I am looking for is if anyone has any knowledge on a way I can reduce the cost, either through promotions, affiliations, coupons, etc. Anything would be helpful; to fly 7 is cost prohibitive.
