Dale's Not So Scary trip report 09/07-09/11

Christopher brought home his first report card today and had one C one B and the rest were A's. He reminded me (I had forgotten) that I told him if he got all C's and above on his report card (He had most D's and F's last year) that I would take him to Disney World.

Congrats to Christopher for a great report card! You better start planning Dawn!

Ok, heads up, this is a PHOTO Trip Report this segment!!!

When we last left the happy couple had just ‘kissed’!!!

The captain had ‘wed’ us again and somehow we didn’t do the Sand Ceremony during our actual ceremony. Being I’d never done a Unity Candle or anything, I wasn’t sure where it really should come in, so we did it after our KISS!
Before we started

During the pouring…

After we were done…

We had our toast (I do NOT like Champaign! so I didn’t enjoy this. Couldn’t they have served a fruity tropical drink in my cup?)

Before we cut our cake…

I just noticed the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings logo on the cutting set…

Then we got to EAT our cake!!! YUMMY!!! (you can see our photographer in this shot. I know at some point I said her name was Josephine, but that is not right! That was my dd’s roommate during the CP last year)!

We then get our First Dance! Since there was no dancing at our first wedding, this was our first ‘official’ dance! (yea, we’ve danced a few times over the years, but not much, lol).

Next up, our photographer took us around the ship for some photos and then our YUMMY dinner at Palo!

I think Patty and i have an Aesops Fable type thing going on here. I'm the Hare and she's the Tortise. Remember the story:confused3 ? Well, i jumped out of the starting gate and have now come to the end of my trip report :scared1: . So instead of finishing yet, i'm going to lay back and wait for Patty to catch up. Patty in the mean time is slowly, methodically spreading around her magic :wizard: . Yes, i agree her reports are worth the wait. So was the Tortise. Turtle soup is yummier then Rabbit stew :rotfl2: .

You know seeing the pictures of Mickey and Minnie on top of your cake reminded me of Dale pointing out that Mickey and Minnie aren't actually married. ;) :rotfl2: Ah well, they are still a cute and perfect couple....just like the both of you.:goodvibes

Why didn't you have a first dance at your wedding? :confused3

Thanks Dawn. We were married in a small church, very conservative and dancing was not something they did, so no first dance. We did get to dance on our honeymoon, but it wasn't in my wedding dress.

For my second marriage(and current one) we got married at the courthouse and then had a big reception type party months later so I didn;t get to dance in my wedding dress either. That was the only down side of the way we did it, but I did like doing it far apart from each other. Not so much stress! My first wedding I did dance and that ended not too long after it started, so I guess dancing in my dress is something I shouldn;t do anyways! LOL!

Ok folks, It's DAY 9. Animal Kingdom :) and going home:headache: So to drag it out a little and savor the final hours, i am going to do this report in several parts. This is going to be a happy :goodvibes but sad  day. I wake up early as usual today and dragged my carcus down to get breakfast at the Pop food court. Also i try to avoid Patty as she packs. You do NOT get in her way as she packs. After some minor arguments over packing and last minute pictures it's time to head out for the last time to AK. It's amazing how small our rental car really is. We had 2 suitcases, 2 carry on bags and 2 travel bags and they took up the trunk AND the back seat (and floor). We arrive at AK shortly after opening and once again get a great parking spot. A short walk later and it's sweating time. I think they turn up the humidity inside the park. I think we spent more time getting character pictures then we did rides this time around. We always have to take the Safari ride (i always find the ride relaxing and struggle to stay awake) and watch It's A Bugs Life. I was really surprised at how active the animals were. It was great. We really did not seem to do much this visit. I think it was do to us wanting a lot of character pictures. That does take a lot of time. We thought we'd venture over to Dino-Land, we'd never visited there before. We decided to eat lunch first. OMG the restuarant outside Dino-Land was PACKED and crazy. It was organized kaos and it seemed to work. It's amazing that one person in a group will go and save a table and chairs while the rest of the party takes 15 minutes before they get their food:headache: . Come on cut us a break and wait till you have your food. Anyhow, when we finished lunch we decided we had had enough and decided to leave.Upon leaving we found a photo pass person that took a number of pictures of us including several infront of the waterfalls by the Rainforrest Cafe. We than trudged back to the car and decide to go back to Pop to see if we could meet up with Patty's homey,(friend from home) Cam. We did. We chilled in the food court for awhile till we could not put off the inevitable:scared1: . Head to the airport. Still no DVC. Next up, PART 2.

Hey! I'm loving reading this TR!!! My fiancee' and I are getting married on DCL (Wonder) 9/20/09. I'm wondering (haha) if you can answer a few questions? How exactly does the wedding work on board (yes, we're getting married on the ship, not Castaway Cay). I know that it will either be on the "secret deck 7" or the Cadillac Lounge... But is it totally private either way? We're not expecting to have any guests at all. And while I don't really mind it just being the two of us, it does seem kinda sad/lonely without at least some sort of people around to witness/share in our joy... at least the first dance and such...

We have never been on a cruise before (well, DF was in the navy about 10 years ago but that doesn't really count as a cruise)

OMG are you guys in for a treat! I can't respond to well right now (i'm at work) but i'll try later. But quickly, if it's humid, windy or even raining you are better off in the Cadillac lounge. Disney does an AWESOME job. It is as private as you want. The secret deck is called a secret for a reason. However it is visible from some remote areas on the ship. The lounge is totally isolated from outsiders. Patty will have to give you the name of our co-ordinator and photographer. They were AWESOME. Get the trend? Also 2 words "Exotic Rasul" You also HAVE to get involved with the cruise ship dis-boards. Then you can invite some of them to share in your happy moment.

Thanks for the info!! We are SUPER excited!!! it's going to be a LLLLOOOONNNNG wait til September! Yes, we're trying to get active on the cruise boards but not a lot of action for our particular cruise dates yet...

If there is not any action yet and you have the time, go back and read our pre trip forums. We sailed Sept. 7 2008 on the Wonder. We were Mickeys Party Pirates. I'll warn you there are alot of pages. Some funny alot real helpful. Another item of advice, arive a day early to avoid any flight delays:scared1: . I think everybody in our group arrived a day early and stayed at the Raddison at the port. That way we also got to meet our new cyber space friends before the cruise. Very nice hotel and very reasonable:thumbsup2 .

This segment will be the wonderful photos that our photographer took around the ship.

I had taken a mat to be signed by the characters on the ship. For anyone that has not done this, I highly recommend it. This is our photo framed now.

I LOVE those pictures! VERY nice! I was reminded of how windy it was looking at your pictures on deck. Very VERY nice!

Final day report: we are driving to the car rental return to…..return the car. Yesterday we filled the gas tank but, thought we better top it off. We stop at the gas station across from the car rental and WHAT THE HECK:scared1: ! they wanted over $5 a gallon. HECK NO! Every place else was in the low $4 range. Remember this was around the hurricanes and several stations were price gouging. Continue on with the story, we returned the car short 1 or 2 gallons. They never charged us. We shuttled over to the airport, discovered the flight was already one hour late, and met up with Cam for dinner in the world renown international food court. We chowed down on left over fast food. Actually it was what was left before they closed for the night. When our butts got sore enough we decided to head on over to the terminal. Here is were the good part comes in. We wanted some coffee so the scavenger hunt was on. Patty and Cam got a funky flavored coffee from some coffee joint while I decided to go to McDonalds. Wrong move. Now remember I am still wearing my Groom Mickey ears. There are two price levels of coffee on the price board. I request the large (believing that was the higher priced coffee). The non English speaking perso told me it was 20 cents higher then the posted price. I said NO way. She proceeded to tell me the large was not listed on the price board and it was 20 cents higher then the posted price. I told her absolutely not and demanded to speak to the manager. The whole time Patty and Cam are avoiding me. Being a Lawyer I wonder if Cam learned any new tips. Yea she did, never argue while wearing Mickey ears. Not very convincing for a sane person. Only a crazy person would argue while wearing Mickey ears. Or an idiot. Which am I? Oh well, it did not take much to convince the manager to give me back my 20 cents. We get on the Southwest Airlines plane ( my favorite) and had the run of the plane. There was like nobody on the flight. We did receive one final dusting (remember them from days 1 and 2) Southwest gave us a bottle of champagne for celebrating our anniversary. So we shared it with the other 50 passengers and had wild… oh never mind. PSYCH! They told us we couldn’t open it till we departed the plane. It’s still sitting in our refrigerator. We arrived to Philly safely and met our oldest son whom drove us home. And lived happily ever after. And no, we did not purchase DVC. Until several weeks later:woohoo: !!!! Now that will be another side note to this trip report. Just when I think its over I get dragged back into it. Quick what movie did that quote come from? I’ll tell you later.

What a wonderful cruise and your photos after the vow renewal came out great! I teared up like I always do at weddings but that is really something special!

LivingtheWDW dream, i noticed you haven't been to WDW to often:rotfl: Have you ever thought of checking out DVC?:confused3 We just joined (future report to follow about the adventure so everybody hold onto your seats) and have already booked two trips next year. We have gone frequently (not enough) and always stayed at value resorts. Now our home is the new Animal Kingdom lodge Kidani.

:lmao: We moved to orlando 2 months ago :lmao: it was cheaper then DVC and we get the comforts of home....wait our home :lmao:

We get to participate in many activities we would have missed if we lived in CT or the Frozen Tundra as I have nicknamed it :rotfl2:

Now If i could just get a job to help pay for my Cruise Addiction ah well until then back to :surfweb: the DIS.

I am about to start my own PTR for my upcoming Wonder Cruise but I'm afraid No one will read it!

Have you thought of getting a part-time job with WDW:confused3 My Daughter did a 4 month College Internship there. The "Cast Members" get awesome discounts. Even if you or a family member could work there part-time you would get the awesome discounts:cool1: On thr PTR, alot of people would read and offer advice. So do it so we can live threw it:cool1: We NEED our fix!

WDW is fully staffed I am on the Waiting List for a position! I did the CP in 2001 worked at TL at Leaning Palms and had a blast!

I'll start a PTR in few minutes helping My mom figure out a rebus puzzle.
