If you get to Animal Kingdom for RD do you need a FP to ride the Safari?

It will be a crowd level one according to EasyWDW and is the most recommended park that day. However, it is the same day as MNSSHP.

Thoughts?

Should I save my FP for the 10am showing of FOTLK to ensure we get into that show?

Thoughts?

A couple of clarifying questions:

Are you going on a day that has morning magic hours? Will you be attending during those hours?

I see you're going during MSSHP - September, early or late October?

I've been in early June, arrived at rope drop, and had no problem doing the safari's walk-on. If you're going during a lower season and will be there w/no extra magic hours or during EMH, I think you will have no problems.

on a crowd level 1 you likely won't need any fp. And if you are at rope drop and go straight to KS then you won't need one then. My family often goes straight to KS rides it, and has a fp for later in the day. Different experiences at different times of the day. Obviously book fp for your day cause you can, but you may not need them :)

Even on a very busy day like and 8 or 9, we go directly to EE, ride, then go straight to KS and never wait more than 15 minutes. You'll breeze right through on a level one and recommended day! :thumbsup2

No morning EMH. I just feel like this is my tightest day despite the low crowds. I see that the safari lasts about 35 minutes and given that we want to attend the 10am showing of FOTLK, it cuts it a little close. I do have a back up of seeing FOTLK at 12pm but that is not as ideal.

This would be on Tuesday, September 9th.

I have had plenty of time to overthink EVERYTHING! :hyper:

I did this last week on July 4. Got to AK and I did have a FP for the Safari's but saw I did not need it so I changed it while waiting to board. We were off the Safari by 9:15ish (the park opened about 8:45 and we went straight to the Safari and walked on). While walking through I changed my FP to the 10:00 Lion King show (previously that time had never been available to me). After the Safari we walked that nearby trail (basically had it to ourselves) and then went to the Lion King. We were probably there by 9:45. Timing was perfect.

If you're staying at AK all day, I could also suggest waiting until almost park closing to do the Safari. I actually found the animals to be more active at that time than first thing in the morning. YMMV

No need for a FP for this, but I'd advise getting a FastPass for that Mountain roller coaster ride (which was amazing btw!) and head over to the Safari, by the time you're out you should be getting close to the timing for your fast pass on the other ride.

It was a really nice safari! Had an ostrich come up to the bus/truck thing they take you in, and a lion was literally eying it haha.
