where can I find out what shops/kiosks that serve ice cream, also have non dairy alternatives? I know about plaza ice cream shop offering Rice Dream, but anywhere else?

Ie: funnel cakes with ice cream, new churro ice cream sandwich. Do any of those places offer Rice dream instead????
Thanks!

Yes the Dole Whip is non dairy. We usually eat all meals TS and at a lot of the places we have gone for lunch or dinner had sorbet. Not sure if you are interested or not but there were carts in MK that had pretzels that did not contain any dairy.

I don't know if you're an ice cream connoisseur like me, but I love trying different ice creams and frozen custards and finding what is best anywhere I travel. Disney tends to disappoint me, since most of their ice cream parlors serve basic Edy's brand - the same stuff you can purchase in a grocery store. Boring. The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, Beaches and Cream (seriously overrated), and even Ghirardelli fit that bill (although at Ghirardelli, the toppings and add-ons for sundaes make up for the basic ice cream). I'm assuming that you are looking for good ice cream that will satisfy everyone in your group, even whoever needs a non-dairy option.

The one ice cream place I have been seriously impressed by is Ample Hills Creamery at the Boardwalk. They make all of their ice cream, as well as brownies and butter cake for their sundaes, in house. They allowed me to sample a number of flavors, and I was impressed by all of them. I got a brownie sundae with the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake flavor. It was super rich and huge. My DH and I had to share - I would highly advise doing the same. The other flavor I really liked was the Oatmeal Lace. I haven't tried it, but they offer a non-dairy flavor called Lemon Sky. It doesn't sound like something I would typically choose, but I'm sure it would be more exciting than plain vanilla! Here's their menu: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/boardwalk/ample-hills-creamery/menus/

One more idea. I haven't tried Vivoli il Gelato at Disney Springs (yet), but it looks like they have a number of "sorbettos," which I assume are probably dairy-free. Here's their menu: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/disney-springs/vivoli-il-gelato/menus/

I hope that helps!

I'm a long time dairy free person and have always been able to get rice cream at pretty much every table service restaurant that serves ice cream as well as the ice cream shops. As for the carts and kiosks ,no. Most frozen carts offer a non dairy option though like popsicles or frozen lemonade. I generally have the same experience at counter service that I do at the kiosks, non dairy dessert options, but no alternatives to ice cream.

Thanks! For some reason I was only thinking of directly Disney properties, rather than Disney Springs and the Boardwalk area. Epcot’s Artisan Glaces will probably have a non dairy option as well. I do really like sorbets and also enjoy them with soda water like a float. I’m sure anything cold will feel like a great option in the August heat!

Is it a vegan issue or a dairy intolerance? allergy?

Why I ask is that I'm lactose intolerant, but I can usually handle small amounts of dairy. So while a bowl of ice cream is a no good without medication, I can manage the chocolate covered frozen bananas they sell in the parks. I love those.

I had to google churro ice cream sandwich since I had no idea what it is... it looks like it is at sleepy hollow and I can't find any reference to sleepy hollow having any ice cream other than regular dairy vanilla.

BUT as mentioned above, at the Plaza they sell tofutti and rice dream. Wondering if anyone else can comment on sleepy hollow.

Beaches & Cream, when we were last there in April 2017, offered 3 varieties of non-dairy ice cream -- Tofutti, Rice Dream, and So Delicious Coconut Dream. The manager made my D, who has multiple food allergies (including milk and soy), an absolutely incredible sundae, and she was thrilled. He volunteered that they prepare the foods for guests with allergies in a dedicated space in the back (rather than the area on display in front) with dedicated tools so there are no cross-contamination issues. :)

Not rice dream but I was avoiding dairy ice cream on our hot trip last month and I found the minute maid frozen lemonade and orangeade cups to be readily available in each park. I had the best pineapple whip/sorbet thing at the Pineapple Promenade in Epcot but I think that was a temp booth for Flower and Garden.

The ice cream place next to Tower of Terror has a non-dairy ice cream but it is not listed on the menu.

My son just got tofutti at chef mickeys and twice at beaches and cream while were staying at the BC.

When we moved to the Poly he had the dole whip, pineapple only since that was dairy free.
