Dairy Farmers Wife IS going to Disney in March/April!

Cruella was cool. I just kind of walked up on her and decided what the heck. I told her I was getting this taken for my DD who was sick back and at the room and she was so nice and said she hoped she got better.

I love the Aurora dress. I don't know if she can stil lwear it anymore. It is probably pretty short if it fits at all. That girl is growing like a weed!

Sorry to hear about you missing the great deal I've done that numerous times and it is also irritating when someone tells you about a great sale and you arrive at the store to find it's already over or they have nothing left , done that one quite a few times too !

Sounds like they may be on the ball finally as to what is wrong w/ Skip , sorry to hear it might need surgery , keeping my fingers crossed that it's not so

After the Swim we headed over to Mk for EMH's!
We met Pluto as soon as we walked in.

Headed towards the castle and tried to decide waht to do

Claire and I decided to meet Ariel for the 1st time. Skip went to Space Mountain.

Then we got a spot for Spectro

After Spectro we rode some bigger rides till it was time for our CRT ADR.

We got checked in at CRT and got the picture with Cindrella

this was a special night for us. Cindy had some time between guests and she came over and sat and talked with Claire for a good 5 minutes. Claire loved it!

We had dinner and it was wonderful.

We then left, only to run right into Mickey and Minnie

We did more rides till closing and then stopped for a few photopasses on the way out.

And we called it a night!

I'm still mad about that dress. LOL! I hope I win the one on ebay. without going way over budget for it. I'm on a mission now. thats scary when I get something in my mind like that.

I don't think I mentioned the dates, but this trip we decided to go the second week of March instead of the 1st. So we were there the 8-14th.

The next morning I woke up early, like I always do at Disney, and took a morning walk and captured lots of pictures. I also bought Claire the castle and had it sent home. (Easter Bunny brought it to her then)

Claire woke up to a note and a new dress from her Fairy Godmother to wear for her BBB appointment that day.
We got dressed and ready and were off to Mk for a very special day!

We watched the move it shake it parade as we walked in.

We stopped along the way for several photopass pictures.

And then made our way to check in to BBB.

Yes she picked PINK hair!!!

We made our way back down Mainstreet to go to the photoshoot. We stopped for more photopass as well.

The photoshoot was nice and we got lots of pictures!

We did a few character meets next

Caught the Celebrate your dreams parade

Then we headed off to Grand Floridian for dinner at 1900 Park Fare for Claire to see Prince Charming once again.

After dinner we headed back to Pop so Claire could swim. I then went back to MK by myself and rode Space Mountain and just wandered a bit and took lots of pictures. It was nice and relaxing. It had been a hot day.

I then headed back to the family. Claire and I went to the foodcourt for a snack and the finally drifted off to sleep.

Skip also got a call from the Hip Dr's office today. They want to run more tests, and then depending on what the tests show, he may have to have surgery again. I'm not sure what prompted him to get on the ball, but perhaps he is getting in reports from other Dr's now and it is all pointing towards the hip, so he is trying to finally figure it out.
So tomorrow Skip goes in for some kid of blood test. He said he does 1, then does another 2 hours later, and then a third the next day. I think they might be injecting something in the blood to to see if they can find where the infection is.

That poor man! Ugh! I hope they get to the bottom of all of this with all these tests.

I'm loving your little re-caps! It's fun to re-live it with you. I remember her with the pink hair. With her cuteness she could pull off ANYTHING though!!!

Hi again! I finally had time to sit down and read the entire PTR tonight!

I loved all the pictures and stories of your past trips, all the fun memories. I often wonder what my kids will remember about the trips we take now when they are grown up. I hope it will all be happy, fun memories.

It IS important to get away. I think the life of a diary farmer makes that very difficult. I think my DH would just work ALL the time if it wasn't for me and my crazy ideas...and if we don't go AWAY somewhere, he just finds more work to do at home! So the only way to really, truly be together is for us to go away somewhere together. He'll thank me someday. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

It sounds like you have a similar situation there as we do--DH is in partnership with his brother, mom & dad are still on the farm but not working, MIL keeps the books....although I don't think we have the drama like you described. DH has been questioning a lot the last couple of years if he should keep on with the cows or not. He likes being his own boss. A lot of dairy farmers in our area have sold the cows. Did you know about the government buyout last year? DH didn't find out about it until after the fact with the first one and about 2 days before the deadline with the second one. I think if he had known about the second one earlier, he might not be dairy farming right now.

I'm so sorry about all the trouble your husband is having with his pain! How frustrating it must be to go from doctor to doctor without definitive answers!

Your Claire is something else! Boy does she have personality! It totally shows in her photos. I LOVED the one of her at 1900 when she was mad about waiting for the prince! That was hilarious! And I loved the whole story about how you just got her calmed down and then totally upset her again with the changes in fantasyland and how the castle in CA is Aurora's! I wish my DD still believed like that!

Can't wait to read more!

Thanks Brook. We found out that the test he did yesterday they were only looking in the hip area for the infection, instead of the whole body, so if the infection is somewhere else, we won't know, which kind of makes us a bit mad.

Yes, we do sound alot alike. MIL still does the books here (FIL died about 15 years ago) I really wish he would stop having her do them though. She has a sticky hand for one, and she feels like they owe her...for some reason. And she really has been mettling alot lately. In fact Skip came in last night and said he was going to start calling her Hariet Olsen. LOL! (If you remember Little House on the Prairie)
Yes, they have actually had 1 or 2 buyouts this year as well, and that is why Skip and his brother started talking about it again. They have even been talking to some who have done the buyouts, and everyone of them say how wonderful it is to have a life..etc. LOL! But I think as of now they are going to keep milking. They have so much pressure from there mom. Basically what it boils down to is that they are made to feel guilty and that they need to take care of the family (the brother who isn't in partnership). Lets just say she has done this her whole life and she knows how to work it to her advantage. I could go on for pages about some of the things she's done, but I won't bore you all.
The whole hip/pain issue will be the reason we won't go for the most part. If we can't get things fixed, he just won't go. And if he has surgery, we wil lfor sure have to postpone it, which makes me sad, but of course I want him to be better, and we will go back.

Claire can be quite stubborn at times. I don't know what the deal with Prince Charming is, but it was so funny how she is so obssessed with him. I think she's only watched Cinderella a couple of times.

Yesterday Skip went in for the bloodwork. He got blood drawn, then had to come back 2 hours later, and they put it back in with radioactive stuff in it. Then he came back an hour later to have a picture taken. The bad thing is they only took his hip area. So if the infection is somewhere else we won't know. He had to go back at 7 this morning for another picture as well. He said he was going to ask if they would take the whole body, but I really doubt they will do that if that isn't what the Dr ordered. I'm not sure how long it will take to get ther results, or what the next step is.
Honestly, it would be wonderful if the infection was in the hip, and all they had to do is give an antibiotic and all was cured...but that is wishful thinking, and nothing is ever that simple. So we wait for now!

Our next day of the 2009 trip was Tuesday and the plan was for HS. In the past 2 trips, we had skipped it the first one, and the next one was the day that Claire got sick, so we really hadn't toured much of it as a family yet, so it was a bit exciting.
We let Claire sleep in, but she woke earlier than we hoped, and she got her princess gift of the day.

We did a little pool time first.

Then off to the Studios

Where we met Prince Caspian

And on to Beauty and the Beast

And more Characters while Skip went off on his own.

We met up with Skip and made a trade off of Claire and I went on my own for a bit.

And we met back again and decided to ride TOT!

Then we watched the Block party

And at Skips insistance we watch Lights Motor Action. I didn't care for it, so I will skip it in future trips.

Any before we left for our evening ADR we had to Hit Toy Story with our Fast passes.

We lost Skip while making our way up front. He was going so slow, and basically alot of tension built up after we found him. (between us ) Little did we know at the time, he was having problems with his hip , which 7 months later resulted in a hip replacement.

While we waited for him I got 1 more photopass, as you can see, Claire has had enough pictures for the day.

Our ADR was for Hoop Dee Doo Review, which we love.

Afterwards we hopped a bus to take us back to Pop. They basically had 6 resorts on the bus, it was hot and way too full, amd on top of that, it was pouring rain back at home, so Skips brother was calling non stop in a panic. It was the bus ride from hell. No other way to put it. And Skip was nasty and basically we didn't talk much to each other the rest of the evening. There was nothing we could do here to help them at home, and no matter where or when we go, his brother panics and always puts a small damper on something fun. I've learned to ignore it for the most part.
We got back to the room, Claire played with some new purchases, I think Skip went and got a beer, and then off to bed for all of us.

This next day..Wed....was supposed to be originally a more relaxing day for us, but as you see the planner in me filled it with quite a few activities.

I got up early and went for a morning walk with camera in hand. When I got back Skip's mood still hadn't picked up and he told me he may have to fly home. I told him I would call my mom to find him a flight, but he said to hold off for now.
He went off for coffee and I packed his stuff up a bit, just in case he did leave.

Claire woke up to another gift and I decided she had to have a hair wash, which resulted in tears. So we washed and I duplicated the BBB hairdo. All was good again. Skip came back and said he was staying, which made Claire a happy little girl.

We drove over to Cape May for breakfast.

After breakfast we went back to Pop, and Claire and I hopped on a bus to head over towards the Grand Floridian. She had a date with Alice and the Mad Hatter at the Wonderland Tea Party. This was a HUGE hit with her.

We then headed to the bus stop to meet up with Skip at AK.

After his poor directions, we did finally find him, just in time for the parade.

We split up and Claire and Skip went and rode Kali Rivers, while I went and rode Everest.

Claire was super wet when they met back with me, and eventually we changed her out of the wet clothes. We then headed to Dinoland and she tried out Dinosaur for the 1st time. She said it was very scary and didn't want to ride it again...but the other day we were watching a Disney show I had taped and she said she DID want to ride Dinosaur again next trip. And she is now tall enough for Everest, and the Yeti really seemed to intrigue her, so that will be something else we will have to ride.

We next made our way over to the last show of the Lion King (EMH's).

Claire was hungry then, so we got a bite to eat and then Skip and her headed back to Pop for a swim while I lingered a little longer and bought my 2009 sweatshirt.

When I got back they were just getting in the pool. They had to wait a long time for a bus, while I was able to walk right onto one.

After the swim, We went to the arcade to use the free game card we got.
It was a dud, it only worked on a few games, so it was a waste, but at least it was free.

Claire and I settled down on a bench waiting to watch the shuttle launch that was scheduled that night, but Skip came and told us later that it was cancelled.

We finally got to bed around 11 (which seemed to be the theme all week), but I had to snoring people serenading me. Since this trip, Claire has had her tonsils out and she no longer snores!

Did he have a X-ray, CAT scan or an MRI? Full body scans are really expensive and really, they want to keep the radioactive stuff away from people as much as possible. I would think that there is something wrong with the hip area, so it won't be that big a deal for the image to be of that area only.

He has had an MRI, but they sent him to get the hip, but couldn't be done because it is metal, so the did the back instead. With this thing he said they used x-ray, but he described it as something going around him, so i don't think he knows exactly how they took the picture.
