Just wondering what other couples budget for food per day.

My DH and I are going to WDW in November. We have been before, we are newlyweds and trying to budget more carefully than in the past.

I was thinking about $80 for both of us per day (about $20 for each breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks/drinks). We will only do a few sit down meals (including CRT) during the week, and the rest will be counter service.

Does this sound like an accurate estimate???

What does everyone else go by?

I budgeted $140 a day for our family, but we are me, DH, DS age 3, and DS age 1. We are doing one sit-down (mainly character) meal each day

I thought I read somewhere to budged $10-12 for each person (adult) for a counter service meal, but I don't remember where now.

You can check the menus with prices at allearsnet.com under dining, this was helpful to me.

I usually budget about $50 per day per person. You can certainly get by with $40 per person if your not having a sit down meal everyday but you will need to offset your budget for those days that you will be having a sitdown meal. Depending on your eating habits it can get quite costly. Most meals (fastfood) for lunch/dinner will cost on average $10 per person but they can become really old really fast. We usually eat breakfast in the room (save some $) then have fastfood for lunch and a few snacks along the way. Two ice creams, maybe two soft drinks and an occasional popcorn easily will set you back $15.00 a day not including any other snack that you may absolutely have to get when you pass it by. Our next trip I have a ps for dinner every night just to have at least one good meal everyday (need veggies every now and again).

Have a great time.

If you include water/soda's in the parks, snacks, etc. we usually budget for $90 a day but don't always spend that amount. We are not big drinkers but if you were, you could easily spend more than $100 a day. We also do not eat 3 meals a day. On days when we have a big breakfast, we very rarely eat lunch. Or when we eat lunch, we do not have more than a piece of fruit or cup of yogurt for breakfast. If you are not talking about doing sit downs you should be fine. Also, if you eat your largest meal at lunch when the prices are less instead of dinner that helps too.

DH and I always budget $100 per day for both of us. We only eat breakfast and dinner but both are sit down meals.

I budgeted about $600.00 for our 5 night stay in Dec. It will be me, DH, DD4 & DD 18mos (who eats free). I went to allearsnet.com and figured out where we would be eating. There is menus with prices. I estimated what I thought we would eat knowing kinda what everyone likes and budget from those prices. You may want to try that and that might give you a better idea of what to budget. Hope this helps.

$100/day for myself, DH and DD13. Mostly counter service. A couple of sit-down meals.

budget $100 a day for food. We typically eat a nice sit-down breakfast, a quickie lunch and a decent dinner...but we try to not do the $100 dinners every night. We found that you can get a great meal at Concourse Steakhouse for about $50 and Kona Cafe as well. We also like Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club. However, if we budget $100 a day for food, that's usually plenty.
