.....please pray.
Having gall bladder surgery today. Just found out a few minutes ago.
Kind of frustrated with this hospital. Friday they said surgery on Monday. Monday they said surgery on Wednesday. Yesterday afternoon while visiting dad was telling the nurse that the doctor came in and said they were going to do it Tuesday.....she said, no Wednesday. Well, it's Tuesday, 4:00 PM.
She kind of acted like he didn't know what he was talking about or misunderstood the doctor. Granted my dad is 80.....but he is still one sharp cookie. He was right.
Friday after his stress test (he had been NPO since Wednesday) they brought him food.....no restrictions......no starting out with liquids for tolerance (pancreatitis and gall stones). He got sick. Asked the nurse if there were restrictions, she checked and said no. Saturday evening the nurse comes in and says, "there isn't anything on your chart or orders saying you can have food so we are putting you back NPO". Then she tells me, they may have said he could have food but someone forgot to write it down on the chart or orders so I just want to be safe. They had been bringing him food all the rest of the day Friday and Saturday. Not increasing my confidence in the staff at this hospital at all. From what I've seen they (nurses) are all to busy running around on their cell phones.
Let's hope the doctors know what they are doing.
Prayers please.
Thanks!
Cristy
