Dad & Daughter Trip

I am headed to Saratoga Springs this Sunday (8/12) with my almost 13 yr old daughter. This is probably our 10th trip to Disney, but the first one with just me and DD. (wife is staying home with pets). Any fellow Dads (or Moms) who went solo with child and have some tips for me? thanks to all

Make sure you give your camera to a CM or two or other friendly folks so you have a few pictures of the both of you on this trip. Maybe a good picture from RNC.

Eat at some new places and make new family memories! For some odd reason we tend to check out new table service restaurants when it is just a kid(s) and I, rather than the whole family. We also tend to go less commando and stop to watch people/shows/whatever. I'm sure this is due to my touring style being different than DH's, but it works!

I just want to say that is so sweet! What precious memories you will have!

Have never done a trip that big, but DS and I go into Boston by ourselves all the time, and I always feel like it's so much easier than with a big group. You can just go-with-the-flow more.

Definitely what the other poster said about getting some pictures of both of you, too!

I did a mommy-daughter trip last summer. The one thing I remember was that a couple of times we were able to move ahead of the line on the Movie Ride when CMs called out specifically for a group of two so they could fill the vehicle to capacity. Otherwise, nothing really any different as far as planning or the actual trip experience. I hope your dh and dd really enjoy this trip. I found it to be a pretty special bonding time with dd.

My dad and I are heading down for a daddy-daughter trip on Wensday. You guys will have lots of fun, and you will probably want to make it an annual tradition. This will be my 7th trip with my dad.

The Cirque De Soleil show in downtown disney, right across the river from your resort, is an unbelievable show. It would be perfect for the two of you!
