Bayou Country was announced in song so I'm sure a lot of people missed it.

I didn't expect them to show images of the DL forward project, but they could have at least mentioned it.

Loved Deadpool referencing the dragon fire and advising to fix the yeti.

You're not alone. Other IP has entire lands, this isn't really that much.

ETA: people are always upset if their home park doesn't get enough of what they want to see, even though DL actually got a lot happening recently and upcoming. It's just the nature of these things, and of the internet

The line to see the newly revealed models in the imagineering pavilion is outside the pavilion for anyone that wants to see the 2 rooms. The line is to the right of the front entrance to the pavilion.

I thought the Tarzan collection was an in parks release. I know that the Disney store website is suppose to have a big merch release tomorrow morning.

I woke up this morning and looked at my phone and saw I had BG8 for D23 Marketplace. To be honest, I barely remember waking up at 4am to do it. A few more days of this and I might be able to fully sleep-queue.

Got over there and was led straight in from basement to second floor and into the store right at 9. Still a good selection of stuff, albeit I’m not sure what was gone from the Friday start, except for the missing pins. They have a bunch of pins but none of the really limited ones and tons of the ones apparently not in instant high demand.

Got to leisurely stroll/roll along the show floor afterwards. Definitely less of a frenetic pace than Friday, which is most welcome. I was going to standby into the Sherman panel but decided to skip it and go rest/pack in hotel room for a bit. Fun morning so far.

Ravensburger area has gone insane again. They didn’t handle the transition from wristbands to standby in any sort of logical way and a huge mob formed to try to figure out where the standby queue was going to open. Watching them attempt crowd control was… interesting…

I was able to snag a promo and pin towards the end of the UFE, 6:30pm?, on Friday. They allowed some stragglers to go in when crowds cleared. They have the D23 pin sets available at Pin Traders.

Truly I think the time sink of getting to Honda is a nice consolation prize for folk who didn’t get tickets. I missed a ton of things this year having to leave early to drop bags, get something to eat, and be on the buses around 5. Lines were never short and often closed. I only finally got into the animation line by ignoring their shooing away today until it opened again. Never made it into Natgeo, TVA or the Imagineering booths. Last one was my own fault; I wanted to wait until after the reveal. Had I known shopping was going to be a bust I’d have prioritized them over that.

I agree. I’m sad that I had to miss the Animation panel that was at the same time as Parks last night. I’m fairly certain they did that as a Honda consolation prize as well.

I don’t know how I’d solve for it because Honda was definitely an improvement for the two big panels, but oh well….

Final thought: If Disney really truly wants to improve the event for fans, they should consider not selling limited-edition pins or other items at the Expo. And put the same sort of restriction on Ravensburger, etc. Just open editions.

If they still want to release commemorative limited edition pins, then use something like the RSP system to randomize things. Require attendees to go to a large hall *anytime* during the event and badge in, and show an ID that matches the badge name. Then allow that person to go through and select all the pins they’d want to purchase. Then at the end of the Expo, they do a random pull for each pin to select the “winners”, and each person gets an RSP email with a link to purchase.

Make this a fan event about going to panels, doing some fun shopping for non-constrained items, and meeting other fans. The massive early lines go away, as does the need for 4am VQs. And the Expo floor can be a pleasant place instead of a constant crowd control problem.

And now with that pipe dream out of my head, I’ll bid you all adieu for the next year when the next iteration of this thread will no doubt start up.
