Who is in D23? What special offers/discounts do you receive?

Just looking into it and wonder what it is worth. Would like to get the quarterly publication. We live in Texas (slight possibility of moving to Florida later this yr) and wanting to know if it is worth it being so far away if there are events or offers that we can't take advantage of.

Thanks!

I have been wondering the same thing so I'm hoping a few members respond about it. Were DVC members and I've been visiting WDW since it opened. Were also frequent DCL cruisers, so I'm just curious if there's enough value in it.

In case you didn't know about, OP, there is a Free D23 membership category that you can just sign up for. But it's the paid membership that seems to be the one in question.

I was a charter member and a member for 3 years and I let my membership lapse. I got no benefit from it. The events were always in FL or CA so I couldn't participate. There were no in-park or store discounts. All it was for me was an opportunity to buy restricted merch I didn't want and a magazine that talked about things I didn't care about. The only reason I renewed twice is because I was afraid I would miss out on something.

Same for me word for word! I let my membership run out after 2 or 3 years.

Charter member here. I continue to renew my membership for the magazine, as well as for the exclusive Disney merchandise that comes with each publication. I can also shop in the exclusive D23 section of the the Disney Store on line. Although we have not attended a D23 Expo yet (we also are in Texas), we plan on going next year. You get discounts at the Disney Store, discounts for Broadway plays, and sometimes the Disney touring company plays, as well as occasional discounts for boating and other activities at Disney World. For us, it is well worth the price.

Had mine for two years and had to let it go.. Just could not justify the price for a few magazines and the small items just not worth it. No discounts for anything no reason to keep it. With the disney credit card you get a picture at EPCOT. With D23 an opportunity to buy more disney items. Maybe if they had a photo like the card does would rethink of it but just not worth it for me.

I'm a charter member and it's not about discounts for me. I enjoy the magazine and, when my DS is a little older, I'm sure I'll take advantage of more of the events. They are starting to do more events in places other than Burbank and Orlando - I went to an event in Newark last year and it was fabulous.
