I hear ya, Dave

I would never complain about the addition of new spots for DVC members...that's part of the awesome side of the contract...

But DVC is an afterthought for park investment...because they don't have to earn our ticket revenue.
That's the stink of it.

I disagree a bit on that one. Sure, they have my hotel room money now, as a DVC member. But I can rent a car, and drive to Universal.

Any day I spend there, Disney has lost my park ticket money, food money, and picture/souvenir money.

I think they still have plenty of monetary incentive.

DVC purchase... At least on some tangible level... Is an acknowledgement by the buyer that the purchaser is committing "to Disney"

Sure they can drive off site and I'm sure some use it merely as an Rci exchange... But those numbers... I would bet...are statistically not that significant.

I think logically...they do have most...which means the motivation to "earn" the business isn't as great as we consumers would hope.

We don't drive offsite to Universal, we check out of our DVC villa and move onsite to Universal. My family used to spend 10 or more days at WDW but we've cut it to 6 days because we really like Universal and the way their parks have added attractions.
