**edit, my initial question has been answered and we are likely paying out of pocket anyway.

I’m trying to price out whether or not the QS dining plan would be a better option than just paying out of pocket.

On our arrival day we were planning on heading over to Disney Springs for the afternoon.

At D-Luxe Burger, would the Combination meal be 1 QS meal credit? Seems to good to be true. They come with 2 burgers, side of fries and a drink for about $27 (for the Premium one).

I believe I've read in a few places that for a QS credit you get a burger and a drink there. No fries (that would require an additional snack credit). Not everything on the menu will be dining plan eligible, I wish things were labeled better online so we could tell when planning out meals!

Yes! I wish it were marked better. Almost like how snack credit eligible items are marked.

Polite Pig is a much better value for a QS credit.

Hubby is quite picky and didn’t like anything on the menu. He doesn’t do BBQ.

After pricing it all out, we’ll probably pay out of pocket anyway. My total food cost (including things not covered by the plan) is less than what the QS plan would cost.

My son loved D-Luxe Burger! We must of went three times during our ten day stay last summer.

The burgers are very large and could possibly be shared. We shared them but we like to dine around DS. We hit Blaze for one son, Hubby likes Frontera QS window, etc...

The shakes are incredible!

With a QS credit we’d get a burger and a shake. They would ask if we’d like to use a snack credit for the fries, which we did.

It was very pricey OOP, I don’t remember the exact amount but felt it was worth the QS credit.

We also enjoyed all the dipping sauces for the fries.

We love DLuxe Burger and Polite Pig but I just wanted to mention that if he doesnt like BBQ, Polite Pig also allows three sides for one QS credit and their sides are TS quality.

Normally if gevsll forvsgaring yo save, but he’s a plain cheese burger kind of person and I want to try the Southwest Burger or something else loaded up with yummy toppings

My personal opinion, is the QS is only a good deal if you get it free or for the kids price w/ Stay, dine, play. For the regular price, you're almost always better doing OOP. You can get gifts cards for 5% off in a few places, BJ's being one of them. We did that last trip when we couldn't book SDP

I think in Deluxe Burger you can get a Shake as a drink. If thats the case, I think the credit is worthy. Or maybe get 1 Shake with credit and pay 1 with coke and split the Shake!

Anytime you see something on the menu that hints that it feeds 2 or more, it's either NOT included on the ddp or it requires *that* many credits to buy using the ddp.

It's similar to the sparkling volcano dessert at Rainforest Cafe. On the menu, it says something to the effect of "for 3". It takes 3 people together using the ddp to order that dessert, otherwise it's not ddp eligible.

Oh for sure. I've priced it out extensively and it just hasn't ever worked out financially. That's what we've done -- the discounted gift cards. Even for this trip I'm planning on "eating and drinking around the world" at Epcot which I thought would be a really great use of the QS plan, but ultimately even after I accounted for all credit uses (even breaking down some of the meals into 3 snacks) plus the cost of everything else not covered by the plan I'm still under the cost of the dining plan itself.

It's a game to me at how discounted I can get the Disney cards. Especially using Swagbucks!

My son gets a plain cheese burger too. I think the cost of the shake makes the QS credit worth it.

Unless you get free dining, the only way I can see QS actually costing less than paying out of pocket is dedication to maximizing beverage value and BOG.
