Hi everyone. I'm so upset. I need to find another place for the first week of our vacation. We were going to spend 3 weeks at Bonnet Creek in July. Since I've been reading about people having their BC reservations cancelled through VRBO, I decided to call BC and confirm my reservations.
I'm renting from the same person that I rented from last year. It was such a good experience that I decided to rent from him again. He made my reservations back in February. Everything was confirmed and set to go. I had a 2-bedroom rented from 7/11 to 7/18. From 7/18 to 7/25 and from 7/25 to 8/1 I had a 1-bedroom booked.
When I called Wyndham yesterday they had my 1-bedroom reservation for the 2 weeks, but my 2-bedroom for the 1st week was cancelled. I emailed the owner and he said that Wyndham probably cancelled it because he had other reservations back to back. Now Bonnet Creek doesn't have anything available from 7/11 to 7/18 - not even a 1-bedroom.
I am so upset. We really wanted to spend the 3 weeks at BC. We are planning on spending 5 or more days at the Disney parks and the Disney waterparks. BC would have been convenient for us since none of us drive.
The person I rented from tried to have BC rebook the reservation, but there are no rooms available. I can't believe that BC has become so popular that there is nothing available.
The owner also has Diamond Resort points so he would be able to get me a 3-bedroom during that week in July for the same price as I paid for the 2-bedroom at BC, but some of the reviews of Cypress Pointe Resort aren't the best. I loved BC when we were there last summer so nothing compares to it.
Cypress Pointe has 2 pools and a small slide, but no lazy river. It also is 3-story with no elevator - which is another bad part about it.
I was at Star Island before and it wasn't bad. There are 2 pools, but no slide. The only thing for me is that it is too far to Disney and SeaWorld without a car.
The other Wyndham I was looking at was Cypress Palms and the reviews are more bad than good. I've never been there, but there are more restaurants in walking distance, which would be a plus.
Since I have to rely on cabs to get us to the parks, which place would be better? Which place is more kid friendly?
Thanks for any info.
