Sometimes more information is not necessarily a GOOD thing. :(

As I told you all last week, I booked a 2 bedroom unit at Cypress Pointe Grand Villa for our trip to Orlando in August. We are a group of 6 - me, DH, DD - 21, DNiece - 18, DD - 14, DD - 11.

Well, seeing JohnnyOldBoys photos of CP, greedy me thought "Why not spend $50 less and get an additional bedroom?" at "just" Cypress Pointe (not the Grand Villas.) So I booked there (requesting a refurbished unit if available,) and foolishly cancelled our reservation at CPGV.

I was up early this morning, so I thought, why not do some searching on his board for CP ?

The more recent posts (the ones that I read before I booked "just" CP) made me think that we would be fine. As I read more of the older posts, I ran into more comments on cleanliness, darkness, and dated-ness of CP. (I know Snoopym you told me so. :( ) Now I am really having some "renter's remorse."

I thought that I would look back at CPGV, but there are no 3 bedroom units available for our dates. :( And if there WAS a 3 bedroom unit available, it would cost us about $250 more for the week. I probably could swing the price, but I guess that's moot right now. :(

If it were just DH, me and our younger 2 DDs, I would not be so concerned. But our 21 year old wears her heart on her sleeve, and if she is unimpressed, we will know about it.

As I mentioned before, when we have gone to WDW in the past we have stayed at a Ft. Wilderness Home (before they were cabins), the All Stars, the Courtyard by Marriott, and the Hilton Grand Vacation near Sea World. I have warned my girls that the CP would not be as nice as the HGV. But now I am concerned that the CP will be a REAL disappointment.

*Sigh*

Hi--

We were at Cypress Pointe a couple of weeks ago. I did post a favorable report. We found nothing wrong with the old part of the resort. We stayed at Ft Wilderness last Sept in one of the cabins. We liked CP much better. We had more room, the washer-dryer, and the pool was great! I too had some reservations about the old part, especially after reading the reports on tripadvisor. We are not "high-end" folks and the resort was much better than we expected. Hope you will be pleased. Don't stress out--it's vacation!

Beth,

I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure CP is fine....better than fine! I read all those posts too and they are from 02-03. There has been ALOT of remodeling going on. I looked a pics on the sunterra websites. All new furniture etc. For the price I think the 3 BR at CP is way worth it! Besides you'll be alot closer to the better pool.

I just cancelled my 3 BR CP ressie because DH wants maid service and breakfast (long story) but I plan on checking out CP during our stay. I want to show dh what we could have had! I'll be sure to post when we get back

Don't worry!

curly

Can you say 7....almost 6 days???
