Cypress Pointe...best rate without Hotel Kingdom?

Hi all. Any advice as to how to get a great rate at Sunterra's Cypress Pointe without using HotelKingdom? I'm just not crazy about having to pay it all when I make the reservation...thanks!

Try winning a Ready Set Go auction at Skyauction.com. You'll still have to pay the entire amount at once, but you can get a full week at Cypress Pointe for about $250.

Do searches on "skyauction" to see how it's done, I've posted it here before as have several others.

The trick to getting Cypress Pointe is to monitor the Find Weeks tool at

You can win a Ready Set Go auction at any time and then just wait until you find the week you want in the system. Your best chance is two weeks before you go, according to the fine folks at Skyauction.

To prove this, go to the address above and search Orlando rooms, 1 bedroom minimum, for this weekend and for the following 30 days. Cypress Pointe and Grandevillas always comes up. Look at their available dates. You'll probably see that they have tons of available rooms, but they are all for the next 14 days, with nothing listed for days 15-30. So it's best to wait until the Monday two weeks before your arrival to search.

This method involves a little risk, but you will have at least 10 other resorts to choose from if neither of these is available (but they always are, I've been watching for a while for my upcoming trip).

And remember: a room rate of $38 per night, tax included, is worth a little risk.
