I am so excited and don't know if it's been posted since I can't search from my phone but ABC Tampa is reporting this.

:cool1: Well I am excited as I have never been and I am moving right next door to the SoCal Legoland in one month!!! :cool1:

Wow! That's a surprise! I didn't realize that Cyprus Gardens closed last September :( . I enjoyed seeing the gardens and waterfalls and will miss it. DS7 will be happy to know that Legoland will be opening up in Florida next year.

I am beyond excited about this. I have seen Legoland on TV and it looks so amazing. I am so excited FL is getting their own park. :cool1:

They also announced they will be keeping the botanical gardens!

We're very excited about Legoland Florida.

Excellent! We have been to THE Legoland in Denmark (a sort of religious pilgrimage for DS) as well as the Legolands in England and Germany. These parks are so well run and clean (unlike like the local Six Flags).

I'm sorry to hear that Cypress Gardens closed. I've never been but it sounded like a sweet place.

But my children are THRILLED that a Legoland is coming... even if it will be another two years from now. They are excited just to go to the Lego store in downtown Disney.

One of my sons wanted to go to California, rather than Florida simply because of Legoland. I had told him, sorry, we're never going to get out to California.

He's dancing around the house right now!

I was very excited to hear this until I found out the Legoland is recommended for kids 12 and under. I have never been to one before so I guess I don't understand what the park is all about. My 12 y/o is a Lego fanatic and I don't see him outgrowing that anytime soon. Is this just a park with rides?

The parks have rides, a miniland with Lego recreations of cities, as well as shops and restaurants and a 4D movie. You can do the whole park in a day. DS is 12 and still loves Lego. We went back to the one in Germany this past summer and he still enjoyed it.
