Cynthia Harriss booted out of the GAP!

Well it has happened just like her mentor Paul Pressler Cynthia has been booted out of the GAp. TO read the press release go to the Yahoo Finance boards and search under the symol dis or gps. Looks like she will once again have plenty of time to paint sofas and nurture her family.

Looks like my 4 year boycott of GAP, Old Navy, and Banana Republic has paid off. Time for me to go to the Gap and buy a t shirt!

They are promoting a Banana Republic executive to take her old position!

Once Paul was gone, I figured her time was limited.
The GAP should have known better in the first place! Obviously they don't read the Dis!

I have said before that I support Harris and Pressler for what they did with the Disney Stores in the early days. They may not have proven very successful at the parks, but TDS without them proved to be disasterous. What's ironic is that TDS once had Bob Bell who came from the Gap. Bell was part of the demise of the stores, and he didn't last long. It's funny that the others went to the Gap in the first place, but hey, retail was their strong points anyway. I wish Cynthia good luck.

As a former TDS CM ( 1992- 2000), I have to say I am not sorry to see her get let go. TDS was a GREAT place to work in the early days, but as they grew way too fast, it became more and more of a job and less and less of spreading magic.

Sigh.
