CVS had a notice up-you can only receive one $25 gift card Q 6 mths for scripts

I went to a different CVS today is a much larger/busier town. At their pharmacy they had a notice up. One only gift card could be obtained for a new or transferred script every 6 months. The last 3 times I went into the store the extra cvs printer gave me 1 of those coupons $25 for a script. They can not be transferred so why offer them if they don't want/allow customers to use them? Has anyone else seen this?

Interesting...I was able to get 2 of them within a couple of weeks because we had 2 different prescriptions to fill (both for the same kid, 2 totally different reasons ). Wasn't sure I was going to be able to get the second, but there was no problem at all. Could it be only that CVS? Or maybe it's just a new company wide policy. Darn...

Years back my CVS refused to let me have any. They said they were only for new to the store customers and they wouldn't accept the coupon at all.

I recently used 2 (within about a week and a half) for 2 different scripts. I hope they dont do that. I use competitors coupons for scripts all the time if I dont have a CVS coupon. I also got the second one at the bottom of the receipt from paying for the first. Why would they give them to you if you cant actually use it....because the expiration date was only about 2 months away.

Most likely that is the policy at that specific store. Honestly, just hand them the coupon and see if they give you another of the gift cards.

I've noticed that Walgreens and CVS are hit or miss. Management at each store seems to make up rules as they please -- there is NO consistency, whatsoever.

It definitely varies by store. It's been reported on the CVS thread that some stores won't accept competitors Rx coupons and yet mine definitely will - there is a sign posted right next to the pharmacy register telling the techs how to redeem the coupons.

But...if this is bothering you call the CVS corporate customer service and they will give you the official CVS policy on this issue. If it's favorable for you and allows you to redeem more than one Rx GC coupon in three months, ask them to send it to you via e-mail and you can print it out and bring it with you and your coupon. Despite various signs and individual store manager decisions ultimately the stores have to abide by corporate policy.
