Hi! I'm new to CVSing. I just started a few weekends ago *thanks to this thread!* I received two 4/$20 ECBs at the register this week.

Can anyone tell me how these work? Is it $20 before or after coupons and other ECBs?

Yes, it's before coupons and ECBs, so the total of all your items (at whatever the current price is) needs to be $20. Most people give that coupon first, but it will take it off at any point after all items are scanned, although a cashier might hand it back if it's given after other coupons.

Thanks for your quick response! I'm heading out later to give it a try....they're open today, right? :)
Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!

They are open all day, regular hours - the pharmacies close early here today. Have fun!

Happy 4th :)

I think I did well. I'm catching on at least.

Pledge Spray - $4.59
Pledge Spray - $4.59
CVS Makeup Wipes - $2.99
Kid's Dimetap Cold & Chest - $1.72
Kid's Dimetap Cold & Chest - $1.72
Sure - $2.69
Sure - $2.69
Snickers Energy Bar - .79
Snickers Energy Bar - .79
Total was $23.92

Used my $4/$20 coupon first, then I had:
BOGO for the Sure - 2.69
$1 off the Sure - $1
$2 off the Dimetap - $2
$2 off CVS Face Wipes - $2
BOGO for the Pledge - 4.59

I didn't bring any ECBs with me except for the 4/$20 so I paid $6.49 OOP and got $6 in ECBs and another 4/$20 that expires 7/18.

I wasn't sure if I was close enough to $20 so I bought the energy bars just in case. My son needed them anyway.

I FINALLY found a store that has the Maybelline mascara in stock so I plan to go back and by 5 of those, use the $4/$20 coupon and $16 in ECBs to get the mascaras free and $10 in ECBs.

How am I doing? ;)

Looks like you did great! you are lucky to get another 4/20!

I went to CVS today and got:

4 -12 packs of Pepsi products
$.99 cent pantyliners
Right Guard Professional Deoderant
2 bottles of flavored water
Shower soap (can't remember brand)
2 Coppertone Face Sticks

Grand Total after using ECB's from last week - $4.24

I earned another $11.00 for next week and have a prescription to take in to get my $25 CVS gift card. I also have a $5 off $25 and a $4 off $20 to use.

I had no idea how fun it was to shop at CVS. Thanks everyone for spreading the news!

The only ones available right now are:

1. printing on people's receipts
2. arrive in the mail in an area that has a CVS grand opening (and can be bought on eBay)
Can you use the gift card to buy gift cards for other stores or does CVS sell those?

I really hope some coupons start to come around again. I just "spent" a bunch of my ecb's w/out rolling them - its hard w/no add'l coupons!

12.00 - pepsi
9.98 - coppertone sunblock sticks x2
2.50 - sweatshirt at 75% off
1.99 - miracle grow individual packets 75% off
2.79 - sure
2.79 - sure - bogo

i got back 3.00ecb 10ecb and another 3ecb!

I'm down to about 30ecbs on my card (just a few months ago i was up to 75ecbs and complaining how hard it was to juggle)!

Over the past few days I have been to 4 different CVS stores and was not able to find the copertone sticks. I'm really bummed about that.

Don't feel too bad. I was able to find and buy 2 of them. Through another board I was able to decode the expiration date ... one expired in 2004 and the other in 2007. :sad2: Naturally, I threw my receipt away before I found that out.

Having had surgery for skin cancer in Feb., I really don't want to depend on expired sunscreen.

I wonder why they don't show the expiration date on them. I used one the other day on my kids and boy do they work - i rubbed it on there face when we got to the beach about 11am - did not reaply it all day - we were at the beach until about 4pm and they got no sunburn or tan at all!

Can you direct me to this website or tell me how to decode the sunscreen for expiration dates? We have loads of sunscreen around now(stocked up due to sales) and I'd love to use it in order of expiration if I knew how to figure that out.

Thanks!

(Copied and pasted from another board, a poster had called the Coppertone folks and this is what they were told)

"They said that the first number is the year the product was made --- for instance, my code of 7C02VF, means my sunblock stick was manufactured in 2007. The C stands for which month, in my case, March. So while it's not expired yet, I know that it will only be effective for another two years of the three years that suncare products work. One of the sticks I bought was manufactured in 2006, so that one only has a year left on it --- hmmmm --- that one will definitely get exchanged once CVS has them in stock again. I'm not sure that I want to settle for only 2 of the 3 years on the other sticks either.

The Coppertone lady said that newer suncare products have the actual expiration date listed, not just a code --- that's good!

A=January
B=February
C=March
D=April
E=May
G=June
H=July
J=August
K=September
M=October
N=November
P=December "

Hope this helps!:)

Yeah, P&G insert! Hopefully that comes in handy the next few weeks:cool1:

Today I stopped and bought the Opti-Free and the Crest Toothpaste. Used a $1 Opti-Free coupon and the $1 Crest coupon (my mom gets her Sunday inserts on Saturday) so the toothpaste was free after ECB. Paid all in ECB and got back $2 in ECB (toothpaste and the correction for the tampons from earlier in the week). Pretty cool to get the stuff you actually need for nothing:goodvibes

Does anybody know how to read the expiration code for toothpaste? I had never thought of it until I had yard sale this little man was trying to find out how old my toothpaste was.
