Cute student teaching story

DD is student teaching this semester. Her first experience is teaching 7th graders She just completed her first week, and though she was apprehensive about it, she is really enjoying it. I asked her if she has had to "be mean" with any of the students, and she told me that she had to discipline a child today. I asked what happened, and she told me a boy came into her room saying "Justin is scaling the restroom walls, come quick!" Not being allowed in the mens room, DD got another (male) teacher to check it out and somehow this kid was literally climbing the walls in the restroom It was so funny to hear her telling this story because although she had to discipline him, she could hardly stop laughing while relating the story. She's off to a good start in a career that is sure to have some unexpected moments.

That's a great story!! Tell her to make sure she keeps her sense of humor- it will help her gets through many situations. Many times something will happen with my kids and at the time I'm about to scream, but after I can't help but laugh. It's helped keep my sanity in check quite a few times.

if you said that that happened last year, it might have been my class! we had a student teacher last year! That sounds like something that would happen with my class last year!
