I was inspired to share this idea from the other going to K thread. My son starts in September and I will do this same thing that I did when my dd started.
Get a copy of "The night before kindergarten" to read together. (do this even if you dont want to make this card!)
Copy the poem and custom edit to suit you.
Get an adorable picture of your child. I went to walmart and had one taken of her holding books with a school bus in the background. Cute! (3ish years ago.)
Create fold over cards. (buy blank ones that fit into your printer)
On the front I wrote:
Introducing: The Graduating Class of 2017 (or whatever, I cant recall, and dont want to do the math again right now!
)
Inside was the Night before kindergarten poem that I custom edited, and the picture of my then almost 5 yo dd announcing that she started K. The neighbors, family and friends all LOVED IT! (I was inspired as my older son was graduation high school the next year!)
I cant recall the exact poem, but it was sort of leaning to the way of "Mommy is tender right now". It was sweet. If anyone is really interested, I have it somewhere and can find it.
