Does anyone know how much Curves is and if it really is a good workout? I'd love any input! Thanks:)

When I joined about 3 years ago it was $29.00 a month. I signed a 1 year contract. I stopped going after 2 years. I felt the work-out was not intense enough for me. It did allow me to loose inches and weight but it never got me to a next level. Of course if this the first time that you have really ever worked out, then it is a good first step. The big questions is, what are you looking for in a workout?

Well right now I do Walk Away the pounds 4mile walk. I was really looking for something that works specific muscles.

I tried Curves a few years ago for several months and actually gained a few pounds. But, I will admit...I felt better, at that time, and prolly lost a few inches ,tho I never re-measured.
Now, I do the 4-5mi. Walk Away the Weight DVD ( 5 days a week) and have not only lost weight but lost quite a few inches in just the first 3-4 weeks. Right now I have 3 of Leslie Sansone's DVDs and switch off everyday for variety.

Some people do better exercising outside of the home.....some do better at home. I work days and DH works nights......so I am more a homebody. My 109 lb. lab loves working out with me..... he runs up and down the hall...while I walk away the weight!!!!:yay:

I was a Curves member until a knee issue required me to leave. I followed Curves for almost a year and had decent results. My only comment would be it is a good starting point, but after a while you might need to look into something else that would challenge your body more. But like someone already posted, it is a good first (or second) step. I just ended my membership a couple of months ago and I was paying $39 a month.

I joined Curves in April and love it. I've never been in a gym before so I have nothing to compare it. Since I joined I've really tried to eat healthy and I've lost 21 lbs as of June 25. :goodvibes

From what I've heard this is a good response. Also I've heard you can ramp up a bit to stretch your workout by increasing intensity as you are able, but after a time, it is time to move along. Let us know what you decide.

Anything to get you moving.

:cheer2:

I belong to Curves and Golds Gym... I love Curves because of the strength training and it is resistance not nautilus (sp?). My arms are looking so much better than I thought... they are toning up.

I love Golds because I like the cardio theather and the classes but I hate the area of the classes.

I think Curves is great if you are there to work out not to socialize... no talking while on the machine... workout then you will see results. Increase your reps each workout.
