Curves weight loss plan

Has anyone participated in the Curves 6 week weight loss program? I would appreciate any info...good, bad, or ugly. My club has been promoting the plan for the last couple of weeks and I'm thinking it might be a good way to start off the new year.
 
I personally have not, but my friend has. She enjoyed it and it did get her moving. However when it was time for her to "move on" she did not. Rather she quit doing anyting. :(

I guess it depends on your current level of activity. I believe it is for a beginners level. It is something to get you started. After you have used this method, you will need to move up to something more challenging both aerobically and weight resistant. Whatever you do the point is to increase heart rate in order to burn off some of the excess, tone muscle because muscle also burns more energy.

Is this their Curves diet program? Honestly, it sounded a little crazy when I thumbed through the book. They have you buying their shakes/supplements, having lists of "approved" foods, and having to widely vary your calorie intake from day to day.

Unless something's changed or this is a new plan, I would say your money/time is probably better spent on Weight Watchers if you want a structured plan and group support.

I am curious too. I just joined Curves & they are starting a weight loss group next month. Anyone else have any input? My story is I failed at South Beach because I didn't have the time to figure out how to transition from Phase I to Phase II. So anybody done the Curves weight loss program?

Guess what????

I made it! I completed my "Run to Disney" challenge on Christmas Day. I ran 1325.88 miles from March 17-December 25th. I am currently (virtually) basking in the Florida sun at my resort :rotfl2:

I did the Curves Diet for 2 weeks. While I did lose weight I later read that the crab restriction are very horrible. I was tired a lot and just all together not in a great mood. But I did lose weight.
 
YES!! I started the plan in September 05 and have lost 35 lbs. so far. I must say that I was a big time couch potato who loves food, especially carbs, and have been carrying and adding to "baby" weight for the last 11 years after having 3 kids.

I was hesitant when I started but I do not have the will power to go on a diet or anything on my own so this worked out perfect. I joined the club after two weeks when I didn't loose any weight the second week so, working out in some way is an absolute must for any program. They do promote the shakes and vitamins a bit but I received a free bottle of each when I joined and there is no pressure at my club to purchase any more. I have learned in the last few months to "tweek" their suggested foods to what I like as long as I stay within the guidelines, it can be pretty forgiving b/c I tend to be a fairly picky eater.

The first few weeks were not the most pleasant and enjoyable but when I think about the horrible habits I was giving up, it made sense and I did begin to feel much better after the first two-three weeks.

Sorry if this is too much of a ramble but I am doing the plan (I just started over again two weeks ago) and it has been working! They design it so that you don't have to diet forever, just a few days every couple of weeks or so (different for everyone) after going off of the plan once you hit your goal.
