We came in March 10 and are here until March 24. So we decided to just stay since we have a rental car. It was too much of hassle since we have plans to meet with family members this coming week.
Anyone else here at Disney as well?

I will update tomorrow regarding how life is. Right now we are at Epcot. Crowd is not as large.

Have fun out there. Could be months or longer before this runs it's course and the rest of us get to see Disney World again.

If you could I would love to hear what "life is like" at the Resorts when the Parks do close down-is there extra Activities, entertainment, etc.

Thanks.
I would like to know also, but the notice on the DVC site says there may be limited to no offerings.

Operational Notice
The Hotels at Walt Disney World Resort will remain open until further notice to give our Members the ability to make necessary travel arrangements. You are welcome to stay, but please understand we may have limited to no offerings. We will continue to stay in close contact with appropriate officials and health experts and are working as quickly as possible to provide updates.

Disney resorts and Disney Springs are closing Friday, March 20th.

Well we found out the Disney Resorts are closing Friday at 5pm. I am currently trying to make arrangements for flights. The Boardwalk has people walking around and enjoying the weather. I have not seen the boats yet so I am not sure if they are running or not. We have things planned for the next few days. So it will still feel like we are on normal vacation at Disney World.
Does anyone have any info as how things are at their resorts this morning?

Disney transportation is completely shutting down on Wednesday morning, except for DME.

There are still numerous guests walking on the Boardwalk. Children are playing in the courtyard. Looking off our balcony it is nice to hear people laughing and children playing. Seems so odd knowing the theme parks are closed. We are going to to go DS tonight. I'll chime in later tonight regarding DS. We were scheduled to be here until March 24, but we were able to get a flight out Friday. .

MY DH went for a walk and said it was eerie walking. The pool at Yacht and Beach Club is packed. Guess this is the place to be. The gates are all closed by Epcot with a security guard standing there. As he walked he said there was no one else around in areas. No other activities going on around Boardwalk.

We’re here now. Leaving today, which was our original plan. We arrived Thursday night and learned upon arriving that Disney World would be closing the parks on Monday. We felt like it was perfect timing for our trip.

Yesterday morning we were at Magic Kingdom for Early Morning Magic. We’ve done this event several times, and yesterday was the least busy I’ve ever seen it. We didn’t stay at Magic Kingdom so I don’t know how busy it was there yesterday. We went to Epcot and found the crowds were pretty light. I was able to get FEA as a fourth FP at 2pm without even trying (but there are only two of us). Even the standby line said it was only 40 minutes.

The pool at our resort (AoA) seemed somewhat busy yesterday afternoon. We didn’t swim, though. This morning it wasn’t busy at all at the pool, which was somewhat surprising. I would have guessed with the parks closed and families trying to make travel arrangements to leave, it would be pretty busy, but it wasn’t. No extra activities that I’ve noticed. Just what was already scheduled. We had breakfast this morning at Ohana, and it was the least busy I have ever experienced it. We had no wait at all for our table. We usually find we have to wait for at least 15 minutes. The restaurant also had several tables that were empty.

Spent a few hours tonight at Disney Springs. It was very packed. World of Disney was a zoo. Earlier BW had activities for the children in the courtyard area. We headed over to Beaches and Cream to find it very busy around 8 pm. The Boardwalk had their normal activities along the Boardwalk this evening.
I saw numerous rooms with the TV on showing the Disney information channel you see when you first enter your room. These rooms are obviously empty. Right now there are a few people here and there walking on the Boardwalk.

How long are the resorts still open

Now that CDC has recommended no gatherings larger than 50 people for 8 weeks, WDW will not be reopening in two weeks.
Well crap. Glad we booked some backup trips. I haven't seen the announcement yet on MDX. It still says closed till the end of March.
