Is the current price $80? Is there any type of magical beginnings. I am thinking of doing an add on!!!

Current price is $80. Magical Beginnings will vary by resort ($5 @BCV, $10 @HH, $15 @VB).

I think there may be a minumum purchase for MB, perhaps someone will know that for certain.

Be careful ...adding on is easy and often contagious.

I was told that for MB to apply for add ons, a minimum of 50 points must be purchased. Same minimum if you want to use Disney to finance the add on.

Hmm.. But with Magical beginnings I have to give up the use of the points for the first year so I am not sure it is worth it. (I am going to purchase 50 points to bring my total to a nice round 350, if I purchase.)

Minimum for MB is 100 points. We wanted to add on 75 in November, but were told that you had to add on at least 100 to get MB, so we did.

Hope nobody is offended if I mention keeping resale add-ons in mind...

They are rare, but if you get on the call list, something usually comes in monthly. And the sellers know they need to beat Disney's price. Just food for thought.

I am not stating this with 100% certainty, but perhaps add ons at new "homes" are treated differently than add ons at existing homes. I still believe it is 50 point minimum for MB's for add on's to an already existing home.

Magical beginnings is Disney's way to discount sales for selected resorts as an incentive to sell those resorts.

Basically the price is currently $80 everywhere. However, if they offered you MB at say $15/point, it means they will reduce your cost by that amount and you in turn trade-in your first year's points.

Example, you're looking at a 100 point VB August use year add-on. At $80/point that's $8,000.

With MB's it's $65/point so it costs you $6,500. For this reduction you would give back your Aug 2002 points, so you would not receive your first set of points until Aug 1, 2003.

The above poster is correct. We just added on 50 pts at VB this month and got MB's for $15 pt($65). Our use yr is Sept.

I think that resales are a great way to go. (As you may recall I bought my first contract from you!) Just to let you know I am thinking of doing another BCV add-on to bring my number up to 150.

You should always check to determine the current minimum for use of MB and the current actual MB amount as Disney changes it from time to time; believe that minimum for use of MB was recently 50 if you add on at VB or HH and 100 if ou add on at BCV.
