Planning to visit in February. "Sunset" time is listed at 6:15pm, and AK closes at 5:00pm. This means we won't get to see Pandora lit up at night, right? Or does it start to get dark enough prior to official sunset time? I'm not good with this stuff.
This sounds like a stupid question, I know

Our trip starts Jan 8 and AK hours were just expanded again last Fri, they changed 9am openings to 8a for that week, and Fri, Sat and Sun also added 1hr from 5p to 6p.

There's a good chance weekends move at least to 6p closings in Jan & Feb. WDW seems to wait closer to the date.

With 6p closings on Fri, Sat & Sun I'm hoping to enjoy Pandora from 6p-7p and watch the sunset go dark there.

Jumping on Kili Safari at 5:55p is another good alternate dusk option. We've done it twice at sunset, one of those we took videos of the lions roaring away. Awesome :)

It's probably not dark enough to really get the experience until at least civil twilight, and probably nautical. Civil twilight usually ends about a half hour after sunset. Nautical ends after about an hour.

For reference, Fantasmic! usually started about 7P in late February, and I always remember thinking it would never be dark enough by showtime, but was wrong every time!
