The standard OBB offer is a 10% discount off the cruise fare, reduced deposit (10% vs standard 20%) on cruises of 7+ nights, and OBC of $100 or $200 depending on length of cruise. Black-out dates apply. Must be used within 24 months of sailing.

There is now an option for a "placeholder" OBB instead of doing a "dummy booking" -- it has a flat $200 deposit and the date can be set later. Same black-out dates and expiration as the OBB.

If you book a specific cruise date, the deposit will be based on the fare for that cruise. 10% deposit for cruises of 7+ nights, 20% deposit on shorter cruises. Fares vary by cruise date, so it's not a set or standard amount.

Yes, the "placeholder" OBB carries all benefits of a regular OBB, just without a specific cruise date at the time you booked. It will be 10% discounted fare once you apply it to a real cruise date. Plus OBC, and reduced deposit if at least 7 nights.

can friends who are traveling on the Dream next week make us a "dummy rez" or put down a dummy deposit for us for our next cruise in Feb 2016? they would not be traveling with us on that cruise if that makes a difference.

They will be allowed to make an OBB with full benefits (either placeholder or specific date) for up to 2 staterooms on 1 cruise date. If they wish to make an OBB for themselves, they could not make one for your family that will include full benefits. If they do not plan to do an OBB for themselves, they can make one for you.

Darn it! My intended date is on the blackout list. Does that mean I can't get any benefits for booking it onboard? I may have to go with another cruise line then, because its our 20th anniversary (over Christmas 2016 Fantasy) and it is a super pricey sailing, I was only going to do it with the discount and benefits of OBB.

I believe you'll receive OBC ($200 or $100) but not the discounted fare.
