Does anyone have an update on the current minimum points purchase direct through DVC? Also, is the down payment still 10%? We are on a 4 day Dream cruise on 5/1 and want to attend the DVC presentation. What are the current promotions being offered? Which properties are available for purchase? We are only interested in DVC direct purchase and financing through Disney (no opinions please).

Tim at DVCNews.com is usually very good at keeping track of the current incentives.

I've read a few reports that people have bought in for as low at 50 pts. However, at this level there were no incentives.

Regarding the financing, I believe 100 points or more must be purchased.

One additional piece of information. On March 7, BLT will be increased to a base price $140/pt.
After March 7, there will be a grace period during which existing Disney Vacation Club members and non-members with a referral will be able to purchase at the $130 base price. No word on how long that grace period may last.

When i put my deposit down in December at Doorway to Dreams here in Chicago, my guide said minimum was 100 with financing and 10% down. I bought 160 points at BLT.

2 nights ago I talked to DVC direct via 800 number, and I was asking the same things. I was told 50 points minimum purchase. I then asked if I could buy Beach Club, and I was told I could buy as many points as I wanted there.

I assume they have points available through ROFR, and they don't advertise it, but certainly will use them to close a sale if they need to.

I was quoted $112pp for beach club, and $102pp for Wilderness.

Hope this helps. All it ended up doing for me was not worry about getting in on resale before March 20, because I can probably just make a phone call, and get the spot I want from Disney. It will also allow me to see what happens to point prices after March, and if they drop, be able to pick up a bunch more to use for short money.

My guide did confirm that you can buy in for less than 100 as a new buyer but he didn't give a time frame of when that will end.

There are no incentives for contracts less than 100. There is a post in another thread that the incentives just changed for BLT--the price per point incentive has been raised and BLT purchases are now eligible for the gift card.

Good luck!
