Current mask requirements at Pools (specifically BWV)

Hi, All,

Going down in April. Just curious about recent experiences at hotel pools and what the mask policy is.

We are staying at Boardwalk Villas, so specific answers there would be helpful, but I would imagine the scenario is pretty similar at all hotels.

I understand you do not wear a mask while actually swimming in the pool.

How about the water slide? Leaving the pool and running up the stairs and down the slide?

How about sitting near the pool? We have 4 kids, we typically grab a table by the pool where we can keep an eye on all of them, as well as go in and out ourselves. Do you wear a mask if you are sitting at a table, socially distanced from others not in your party?

Masks are not required while swimming, going to and using the slide, or any other swimming related action. Masks are not required while seated in your chair/at your table.

Masks are needed for actions such as going to the pool bar and using the restrooms. Guest behavior and CM enforcement in these areas is not always 100% in my experience, but the majority will wear masks and many/most CMs will be quick to ask you to put one on if they see you.

Have not been to BWV but have been to several other pools and rules/experiences have been the same at each.

We were at CBR in October. A CM approached us as we entered the gated pool area and explained that masks are not required in the pool, at our chairs, or walking to/from the pool, water slides, hot tub, etc. They just requested we put masks on when walking to the bar/QS or to the restroom, and of course whenever we left the gated pool area. They also requested we put the backs of our chairs forward when we were done to indicate the chairs needed to be sanitized.
