(Told wife we should break out the old 10 speeds and start our trip early) That initself would be a magical moment.....

Thanks Fellow Fort wilderness Camper!

We were there last weekend and found the price around the resort to be $1.99...but offsite up to $2.25!

Do not buy gas in the Lake Buena Vista/535 area near Disney. It is notorious for being 20-30 cents more than 5 miles down the road. I'm not sure how this is legal, but I feel sorry for tourists who don't know there is a Hess station at 535 & Poinciana that is considerably less.

192 in Kissimmee was averaging around $2.07/gallon this morning. The news reported the best prices in gas was somewhere in Orlando for $1.99. Wow - what a deal :rolleyes2

THANK YOU

You Guy's are theBEST!!!!!!!!

There is one Cheveron station in LBV that is just outrageous. The Hess on property is MUCH cheaper! (You know it's bad when it is cheaper on Disney then off!)

For a long time now, on site at WDW (Hess stations) have been at or near the low end of the price range.

So low that I would not bother to do any scouting around anywhere else. If I was actually going somewhere else and see a lower price, fine, top off.

There are ten gas stations within a mile of the first main drag intersection I approach when leaving home, each day a different station is cheapest by one or two cents, but it takes four miles (at least 25 cents of gas) and ten minutes to check all ten and also get back to the one that is cheapest.

Just looked at gas prices on orlandogasprices.com

$2.39!?!?!?

Here in St. Louis it ranges from $1.99 to $2.15.

Better save some more money for gas!!!

THe HESS was 1.99 and so were other places, but some were well over 2.10 so be careful.

Most stations in the Orlando area has regular unleaded for $1.99. The Shell station near the crossroads and a few others around there are going for $2.30. Crazy. The Hess stations across from DTD is $1.99.

:scared1: :scared1:
I went to aaa.com and they have a gas calculator..You put in your starting city the type of vehicle you are driving and your destination it came up with the mileage, gallons used, fuel cost.. It fiigured it for one way and round trip the it gave you the total cost depending on what the gas prices are at that time in that area..Neet little budgeting tool.. :scratchin :scratchin

Its quite legal. Its known as the laws of supply and demand.

But to your point about not buying gas at a WDW area station, yes you are quite right that its often more expensive than in the non-tourist areas. But I've found recently that contrary to what you might expect, the two Hess stations on Disney property are usually cheaper than what you'll find being offered just off-perperty.

I have found that HESS anywhere is cheaper than most other gas companies.

We had a new Hess open and they are so much cheaper than the neighboring stations that there are always lines. It has forced the other stations to lower their prices. They had no choice if they wanted to stay in business.

www.gasbuddy.com is an EXCELLENT place to look for "cheap" gas. Just need the zip code of your fill-up area and it will list the lowest prices reported by other gas buddies.
I was just going to suggest this site too. It's great, are you a gas buddy too. :moped:

On the 13th, we made it to the airport before we realized we hadn't filled up. The closest station to the airport stung us for $2.69/gallon. Still cheaper than the rental company would have, but considerably more than the 1.99 they were charging on Disney property.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:That's why i love this board!!!!Thanks for all the info! :flower: :flower: :flower:
