Current Epcot Conditions

Saw the traffic on the way to work, seems like a long line to get into MK/Epcot area but that was at about 8AM

We are in a car heading from Contemporary to Boardwalk and just drove past TTC. Wow the lines! You couldn't see concrete anywhere. It was nothing but bodies. I know Epcot is going to be crowded to. At least we'll be using the IG

Just walked through.

A few things:

- there’s added security, even at the back entrance, so travel light.

- lines for many QS locations are long already. We waited about 30 minutes for the French Bakery.

- it’s a bit chilly outside, but hot in the sun. (it’s all relative, i know)... judging off past days, it’s gonna get chilly tonight. Pack and dress accordingly.

- today isn’t the day for rides, unless you have a FP+

- the grass areas will be open for seating today.

I still shake my head why ANYONE would wait in a 4 mile line to get into the parking lot for the MK. How enjoyable can that be? Even when you get into the park and you are sardined in there and have to wait long periods for everything (food, bathrooms, rides, buses, monorails etc), is there really any joy to being there? Honestly, I just don't get it.

It's tons of fun being there! I would never drive there this time of year though. When we take the bus this time of year, we've never encountered any delay.

I agree. My cousin is local and is on his way to Epcot. He's been in the line to park for nearly an hour

Just checked in to our room at the Swan! We’re off to DHS to use some FP+s before we head to Epcot for our first ADR.

We were at AK earlier, and while crowded it was very manageable - we rode EE single-rider twice with a max 15-minute wait.

Some people get a charge out of being somewhere with a huge crowd for special occasions. Some people love the party atmosphere and being part of something bigger. Some people like going to Times Square for NYE or shopping on Black Friday. I am not one of those people, but I do get it.

I’ve done NYE at Epcot a bunch, so we have a system we use that works for us and it’s really enjoyable ... I’m sure NYC is better, but there is just something about the vibe of Epcot on NYE and how they celebrate the countries that’s so exciting. But I definitely wouldn’t do it without a plan and a reasonable expectation of doing nothing but partying.
