My disabled adult daughter will be going to DLR without me, and I'm trying to help her prepare. She is going as part of a large group of people she doesn't really know yet.

She will be getting a DAS, but doesn't know who she will be riding with at any particular time. I can't remember - can she take people with her if they aren't part of her 'party'?

Also, do they still have kiosks, or does she need to go to each ride to get a return time.

TIA

Having a DAS in a large group is problematic. I honestly don't know how to advise you on this one other than to have her get the DAS on her own and break off from the group to ride solo (if possible). Or, pick a ride buddy or 2 for the day to link to her DAS.

Are none of the other group members disabled? Or is she going with a group of other disabled adults? If it's the latter, usually those groups don't use DAS. My son went twice with his special needs class and even though most of the kids qualify for a DAS, they didn't use it because they all rode the same rides together as a group and they only chose rides everyone agreed on in advance. The teachers helped manage any line waiting issues that came up.

You should have her add the people to her pass . When you check back in everyone doesn’t have to ride but can if you have them on your pass . Give her more opportunity to ride with people . It’s hard enough to be there on your own without your normal support system. I hope she has a wonderful time ! 💖

She is limited on the number of people. Large group is how many?

And she will have to pick those 5 people when she gets the DAS, and have their tickets/magic bands handy too, right?
Yes. She would pick them when she gets DAS. Their tickets/Magicbands would be linked to her.
This is the link about DAS from the Disneyland website. It’s dated November 2014, but is still generally how things work.

Thank you all for the information! I didn't want to give her false information, and this provided a lot of clarity. It's not a group of disabled folks. There might be others who are, but it's not likely. We've used the DAS before, but as a family. I couldn't remember how it all worked, so your notes helped me tremendously.

She will know one other person there, so I will suggest she add her to her DAS. If she makes friends, I'm assuming they can go back to City Hall to add.
