Curious... what resort has the *most* disney magic?

For us it has to be the Polynesian Resort because:
1. It's one of WDW's original resorts.
2. The exotic theming.
3. It's on the monorail.
4. Our first on-site visits were spent here when our kids were young.
5. You can watch the MK fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from a hammock on the beach.

That's an interesting question as all the resorts have their own individual theme and magic.

I remember when I was a child seeing the monorail running through the contemporary and thinking "WOW" I thought it looked like a giant toaster and my impression was that it was a very expensive place where rich people stay :p

So I would have to say the contemporary, with the monorail running through it, a walk to MK, rooms with views of the castle and a modern wonder - years before it's time

Having said all that - I have no interest in staying there now LOL

I like the theming at AKL, GF, BC, YC & BWI much more.

>>^..^<<

For me, the Disney Magic would be located at any of the 3 Monorail Resorts.

The "magic" is seeing the castle right from your room at night change colors, watching the fireworks, hearing the train whistle or Haunted Mansion right from your balcony and waking up to them . .the views are just awesome.

We stayed at GF, Poly and WL and although WL is a GREAT resort with beautiful theming and friendly atmosphere, nothing can beat just being on the monorail line. It just seems more real that you are actually at WDW by staying on the monorail line.

I'm hoping to stay at the Contemporary for our 2004 trip, but if not, it'll definately be Poly. :)

I think it is a matter of personal preference.
For me there is no other place for Disney Magic like the Wilderness Lodge!

Without a doubt WL. The Lake, the lobby fireplace, the trees...one of my most favorite places -- and I'll be there in 20 days!!

ok..I know this may sound cheesy...but I would have to say the ASmo...
I know...its swamped with kids...and is a value resort...but when you think about it...it really is a "disney" resort...down to the themeing...
Don't get me wrong..the monorail resorts are fantastic...but to get that true authentic disney experience...(ok children screaming and packed pools being the exception) I would say stay at the Asmo...
Just IMHO

I haven't stayed there, but I've visited, as well as all the Dis Hotels. I'd vote for All Star Movies. My grands love all the all stars (and they have stayed at Movies), and even though we get them to stay elsewhere with us...they don't feel like they are in Disney until we heard over the the AllStars.

For us it's the Polynesian. Atmosphere, location, CMs. We walk through the front doors and feel instantly relaxed. Ahhh!

I do think it's all personal preference, and feel all the resorts offer their own magic.

I have never stayed at the All Star but my children have and my Grandchildren love this whimsical resort.

I found my Magic when we took our GS for his first trip to Disney. We stayed a DL now Riverside. Following year The Caribbean was where we found our magic.

This past year we spent a week at the Poly. My New Magical Resort.

In 04 our Magical Resort will be AK.

I think the most magical resorts are those on the monorail, especially the CR and Poly. There is something about these classic resorts that just screams Disney magic to me. When I was a kid and would camp at FW, I always dreamed of having a monorail whisk me to the MK every day instead of that boat (LOL). Also, to be able to hear the sounds of the kingdom and see the castle from your own resort is pretty special.

Do you think it is possible to get as many answers as there people who respond to the question? What I mean is that the "magic" is where you make it - or better yet where it is made.

For me the "magic" is at BC, for many reasons. I remember the first time we stayed there, the feeling I got when I walked into the lobby of WDW newest resort (at that time). Art was there with a salute and a hearty "good day sir". The CMs were so excited to be a part of the new resort - it showed then & they still show it today. My children were young (just babies, DS 4 & DD 2). They were so excited to have breakfast with Goofy & Friends at Cape May. I still try to relive that memory on every visit when I sit in the lobby & watch the little kids as they wait their turn for the character breakfast at Cape May. I remember the excitement that my kids showed when we returned to our room late one night and found their stuffed animals arranged on the bed along with a "zoo" of towel animals. That's magic! We still talk about those first trips and the "magic" that we found.

The Polynesian and AKL for their ability to completely take you away from reality in terms of both theming and service.

I can't pick one. I've found they all have "magic". You really can't go wrong.:D

This is the same reason we choose WL for our stays! It's like really being away from the rest of the world. Service is fantastic! Food is fantastic! Lots of things to see and do and getting the Captain's package for the boats is icing on the cake.

Really easy access to MK via boat.

And most important....AWSOME PINA COLADAS!!! :)

You took the words right out of my mouth. ;)

.. for replying... I just love reading all of these answers! I'm stitting here with a smile, remembering all of my fantastic disney memories ;)

Keep the opinions coming... love it!

would be the Polynesian. We've never stayed there (visited a lot) and I don't claim it to be my favorite resort but I think it does have the magic. The theming, the monorail gliding by, the music, tiki torches, the lobby....there is just something about it.

My second choice would be the Contemporary. One word: Monorail

Like other posters have stated it all depends on your taste.
I also think it depends on the staff and the way you and your family are treated. My famly and I have stayed at four different hotels on property three Disney owned and one not.

The Dolphin was every bit as magical as any of the other hotels because it was the fiirst time in a hotel like that. It was brand new, the staff was friendly and treated us well. Housekeeping was attentive to our requests and it was romantic..........just me and my husband. (Before the kids came) :D

My first stay at the CR was amazing. I have nevered been treated so well by so many staffers in my life. Like another poster, I had always wanted to stay at the CR in the Tower because as a kid watching that monorail whiz through the A frame awed me. It was exciting to feel the monorail coming into the CR station and my children just loved it. We love the pool which suited our needs at the time and our second stay there was almost as magical.

The other place that we expereinced Disney majic was Coronado Springs. I beleive that had a lot to do with our children and their excitement. I really enjoyed staying at this resort because of the theming and the politness of the staff. The pool was awesome
