Hey so we were at DL Feb 12-19
I know the flood day was not busy hahahaha but curious if anyone can give me context what the other days wers classified as? To me who hasn't been in 8yr it was INSANE!!!!!! We were at universal on the wed but at DL all the other days. Were those actually crazy days or were they classified as slow days now? Honestly not sure I'd want to go back to that again even with fastpasses.

We were there the 16-19.

Thur the 16th was fairly quiet during the day but it got pretty busy in the evening- busier then I expected honestly. But not as busy as holiday times or even summer. It felt like an off season day crowd wise.

Fri the 17th was busy in the morning but by 2pm when the rain hit it cleared out. By the time we ate dinner at 5:30 and got done- it was a ghost town. We stayed till about 8:30 (from Seattle and the rain didn't stop us). Everything left open was a walk on and they closed the parks early.

Sat the 18th was typical of an off season weekend- maybe a bit slower in the am but otherwise by 9;30 or so was steady. but not as busy as I expected for a holiday weekend.

Sun the 19th was the busiest day- despite the rain in the am. Crowds were there right off the bat and it was more obvious it was a holiday weekend.

We have annual passes and go a few times a year- off season, holiday times, summer, you name it we have done it. But we aren't locals so I don't go as often as many do.

We were there on the 18th and wouldn't have classified it as an 8. In fact, we thought things were a little quieter than usual for a Saturday, perhaps due to the weather. It was busy, but moderately so. We figured that Sunday would be busier, which is why we chose the Saturday.

Are these just predictions? Those don't seem accurate based on the days I was there last week, and they include the whole month, so...?

OP, the issue I noted last week was that they weren't running things at full staff/capacity (particularly on the 14th, which felt pretty crowded at DL - we waited 30+ minutes for Storybook first thing because only two boats were running), and with Pirates, Matterhorn, the whole Rivers of America/train stuff down... There's just not enough to absorb the people that are there, even if it's not really *that* many people attendance-wise. Also, hours are reduced, so you just can't pack as much in, and there's no chance for hitting a largely empty park at rope drop. Tuesday was not at all "slow" in my opinion, even if attendance figures were lower than other times of year, because lines were long and walkways were full from the moment the park opened at 10.

I included the link where I found the info for crowd forecasts.
I have no idea of it's accuracy....

Now a days I prefer to look at figment_jii's thread for events and school schedules when looking to schedule a trip.
https://www.disboards.com/threads/2017-calendar-of-events-school-breaks-and-dlr.3528760/
This thread gives me a real idea of how park crowds might be.

Knowing there really aren't slow times like years past, I have quit looking at the crowd forecasts.
I book and go with the flow once we're there.

We were there 12th-14th
12th - felt to be at least a 9, it was crazy.
13th - felt like a 7 maybe? A more normal crowded
14th - daytime seemed to be about a 4 - some lines (like Toy Story) built super fast, while others seemed manageable for most of the day. Evening seemed to be getting busier (probably due to Valentine's dates), but we had outside plans and left around 5.

We were there Friday-Sunday. Friday was so nice (before the heavy rain!), because we could easily move around. Sunday afternoon was BUSY. We left early that evening because the lines were so long. Over 2 hours for Space Mountain!

We were there the 15th-19th.

The 15th and the 16th were not bad at all (no more than 15 minute wait for most rides using fast passes to our advantage).

We didn't go to the parks on the 17th since we were hanging out with some friends in the area.

The 18th we went to Universal and the crowds were not bad...we accomplished everything in the park and re-rode some of the bigger rides by 7:30.

The 19th was crazy busy after about 9:30. We were able to ride 6 rides right after opening but once the crowds came it was fastpass and picture taking/people watching in between fastpasses. To get a decent spot for the parade and fireworks we had to start saving our spot at 5:30pm (8:30pm parade).

We were there the 18th and 19th. Sat the 18th actually felt very quiet to me. Even more so with it being it a Sat of a holiday weekend. That said, Sunday the 19th felt really croweded - more crowded than Thanksgiving week to me.

We were there the 19th and 20th. The 19th (our DLR day) felt very crowded, despite the rain. We were in DCA on the 20th, and it was crowded too. When the wait for Luigi's is 50 minutes, that's crowded, right?

The most noticeable issue we found was that the FP return lines were really long. For example, we went to our HSM return, and the FP line was all the way down to where you enter. I thought it was crazy that it was down to the bottom of the ramp, and that was *before* I knew that they had ropes and a queue set up at the top of the ramp. So you went up the first ramp, hang a left up the second part of the ramp...then loop back and forth in the roped off queue before the home stretch where you turn in your FP. I have never seen this before...is this new? It took about 25 minutes to get on the ride.

Same thing for RSR on the 20th. It took 25 minutes to get through the FP line (and stand by was 2 hrs and 15 minutes). I'm pretty sure RSR was like that because it had been down earlier in the day. But what's up with HSM?

We saw people camped out for the 8:30 MSEP at 4:30. Who knows if they were there earlier. There was an announcement before parade time saying that the viewing areas were full, and people would have to wait for the 2nd parade.

Of course, we knew that it was a holiday weekend and would be crowded. We still accomplished a lot and had a great time!

We are here now (feb 19-23) and it's been a zoo every day. Sunday the 19 th was rainy AND crowded, which I've never encountered before. I expected Sunday and Monday to be busy with the holiday, but today (Tuesday) wasn't much better. Although there were fewer people in the walkways the lines for the rides were just as long. Space mtn was 110 minutes most of the time. As another pointed out, there are a lot of closures right now so that makes it feel more crowded. Also at one point there were 5 rides temporarily down at the same time. The trail from Big Thunder to Fantasyland is closed so that eliminates a preferred route for my family. With the Railroad closed it's just much harder to get from one side of the park to the other right now. It's honestly been one of our more frustrating trips but we are still having fun. I have yet to get a FP for radiator springs. They are gone well before noon. Our FPs for space mtn were after 9 pm on the first two days and today we didn't get any.

I'm also finding both the Disneyland app and Lines (Touringplan.com) have been wildly inaccurate.

I've visited this week in the past and it wasn't like this. I think there are a lot of factors making it seem more crowded than usual right now.
