I was just wondering if anyone knows if Disney did anything to remember President Reagan this week. Is the Hall of Presidents still an attraction ??I haven't been to MK in a long time but last time I was there it was closed or being remodeled/changed ... something. Did anyone go that can tell me if anything special was done I am just curious.

Is still attraction,I don't know if they did anything special this week.I'm sure all American flags were at half staff this week at WDW.

danny1649, are you assuming that the flags were at half mast, or did you see them that way?

I was at WDW Monday through Wednesday and all the flags I saw were at half staff.

I believe the flags will stay at half staff until ?July 4? per request of president Bush.

Under the US Flag Code Sec 175 (m), "The flag shall be flown at half-staff thirty days from the death of the President or a former President". So till July 4th is correct. I beileve this is for all US Flags on US soil, either in the 50 states or overdeas installations such as military bases, embassies, etc. On a side note, the Flag Code is rather interesting if you read it, there are somethings in there that I personally never realized. :wave2:

I did Hall of Presidents last Sunday. Nothing special was done. When the annouced Ronald Reagan's name the people in the attraction clapped.

hogie1, is that for flags on private property as well?

Flags on private property are not required to be flown at half-staff, and there is no legal way to enforce it, however all flags at WDW are being flown at half-staff until July 4, in accordance with tradition and out of respect for our 40th president.
There was no special observance of President Reagan's death other than the lowering of all flags, however, Cast communications have outlined his connections to the Walt Disney Company and his achievements as President.

In addition to participating in both the Grand Opening and important anniversaries of Disneyland, President Reagan had his second innaugural celebration at EPCOT Center (Washington, DC had severe weather that year).

Thanks for the quick answer Safari Steve! Just wondering what to do with our flag - we usually fly it the week leading up to July 4th - but it seems weird to start it out on half mast. It wouldn't seem like it had been lowered from full. Well, I guess we could raise it all the way, then lower it?

BTW, sorry if this is too OT.
