I am just curious how it all works when you win a night in the castle. After the park closes, are you free to go and come as you please, or is there a guard or something escorting you around?

No, you have an escort/concierge. You can get things delivered at any time, but you can't leave the room.

but just dreaming about what it would be like. What time do you actually get to go in to it? I am assuming after the park closes. Are they still letting folks do this?

I would be so much fun to walk around in an empty park! But I doubt they would ever let anyone do it...

The people that won the stay "checked in" in the afternoon. They got to be in the parade at 3 pm. There were some behind-the-scenes and front-of-the-line stuff they could do during the day. It would be great to take advantage of that, but it would be hard to get me out of that room! :goodvibes

They are no longer giving away a night in the castle suite on a regular basis. They may give it away for certain sweepstakes, but not to someone just because they are visiting the parks. It is normally reserved for special VIPs.

The problem is that the park is never empty. Over-night is the prime maintenance time. I'm sure that there is a pretty impressive sized group of people cleaning up and getting ready for the next day.

It almost seems like you are a prisoner in the room. Doesn't sound like a fun time to me.

Me either. I would be freaking out if I was captive anywhere. Those rooms are just not that big and they have no view!

That's exactly what I was thinking. I mean...it would be fun and an unforgetable experience but having to stay locked up overnight...I don't think so.

whatever, so if you win it, you are just going to nbot take it? give me a break. you people would take it in a second.

Aren't you locked in your own house overnight? From park closing until early morning whatever would you do anyway? Watch some TV - they also have a ton of Disney DVDs available - take a bath in that incredible bathroom - get some sleep! Wake up, brush your teeth, pack your things and out the door.

That is true. I've been in the MK after close when I filmed a spot at the Haunted Mansion for resort tv. When we came out, it felt like a different world. All of these real huge lights were on. There were workmen everywhere along with big cherry pickers. The thing that bothered me the most was that there was no music. The MK without music was just weird. The magic is sorely lacking after hours.

I've heard of a few celebrities getting the park to stay open after closing just for them, but I don't think I even want to see the bill for that privilage. I think there have also been some weddings by the castle after closing. All it takes is money... lots of it!

No. If I wake up at 2:00 am with a craving for Taco Bell, I can just jump in the car and swing through the drive thru in my PJs. I'm free to come and go at any time in a regular hotel room or in my house.

That being said we'd probably have to turn down the Castle room if we were ever offered the opportunity. We both smoke and there's no smoking in any hotel room on WDW property.

:rotfl:

Apparently the concierge is (was?) supposed to be able to provide any request, like an ice cream sundae at 2 am. I don't know if they would drive to Taco Bell for you.

yes....I would take it in a second, but the whole "being trapped" thing kind of freaks this claustrophobic person out a bit...:confused3

Sorry Kirby....I would NOT take it...I would donate it to someone who would really appreciate it. Spending the night in Cindy's castle just doesn't do it for me anymore.

I wouldn't take it. I would give it to some random person who appealed to me. I've been inside the suite. It wasn't interesting to see, but I'd have no desire to stay there over night.

Now, give me a night in a real castle somewhere in the UK and I'd be there in a second.
