Curious? Do you factor in buy in costs to figure out how much each DVC vacation cost?

No, I don't consider the cost of the original purchases in the cost of a trip.
We paid cash for our DVC contracts 9 years ago, and consider that a past purchase that has no bearing on what I spend this year on vacation.
I do keep track of what we spend per trip, but things are so wacky due to the fact that I might purchase annual passes one trip and not have to the next, but I'm not going to try to figure out that cost per trip. Or the fact that I buy airfare sometimes almost a year out, and that cost might not be considered by me as it was paid for long in the past (IMO).
I know, I'm crazy!

I take my total DVC costs and put them in one column (buy in costs, MF) In the other column I write down what I have 'gotten' from DVC (cash rate for rooms we've stayed in, little rental I did, now cash from OKW sale). When column 2 matches column 1 I will have 'paid for' my DVC and then will use only MF to factor in cost of room. If I don't get lazy, I may continue to figure what room cost would have been to see how much I 'saved'. I do not figure lost income or anything from money I used for the buy in, because that's just way too much conjecture. You can guess what you might have made on that money, but unless it's locked in, you really can't be guaranteed much right now. My highest interest earning account is around 2%. Now, I bought my OKW by selling Ebay stock before the crash, so I guess I 'made' money on that one since if it had been left in stock I would have lost money on it. It can make your head spin, so I really just keep it simple.
