I am curious as to why some reservations require you to pay in full at the time of making the reservations and others only require the credit card to hold the reservation? I made reservations for Fantasmic yesterday and they only needed my card to hold the reservations, today when I made my Hoop Dee Doo reservations they charged me in full. Just curious as to why there is a difference?

Hoop De Doo is a dinner show - if you don't show up they lose out. Fantasmic is more like a regular ADR. I'm guessing that if you didn't show up for Fantasmic, they'd easily fill your table with walk ins and they'd definitely fill your Fantasmic seat.

The Fantasmic package requires a cc to hold it because if you don't show up, they charge you in full. If you don't cancel at least 48 hours in advance, they charge you $10. They need the cc number so that they can charge the fee if you don't cancel in time or do not show. The Fantasmic package reservations are pretty limited, so they make you hold it with a cc so that guests don't make "just in case" ADRs and then not show up. Most restaurants do not require the cc hold - if they happen to have space available, there are always walk-ins looking for spots and people calling at the last minute.
