Hi there everyone;

I am currently working on a trip plan with some of my friends and one thing I want to keep in mind while browsing for resorts is the types of trees around the resorts. One of my friends is allergic to both Spruce and Pine trees. Normally I wouldn't expect to find them in Florida (I'm a silly Canadian and have never been to Florida before so I am just guessing here :) ) but I know due to themeing that Fort Wilderness Cabins and Campgrounds are out of the question. I just don't want to pick places as suggestions of where to stay that are going to cause her to be uncomfortable. So in that case does anyone know of any other resorts that have either Spruce or Pine trees around them? Thanks so much in advance

Pine trees are all over Florida. They grow wild along interstates and thoroughfares. There are even pine tree farms being grown where the orange groves use to be. If someone is going to Florida and allergic to pine trees, please bring your epipen.

What type of allergy? Is it a seasonal hay fever pack your Zyrtec thing? I only ask because my mother is allergic to pine, but the residue of the tree bothers her more than the pollen. Makes Christmas time super interesting...and I've been to FL with her twice, I don't remember her having issues in Florida (but it was also the heat of the summer)

Yeah she's been to WDW numerous times. Mostly I think it's just an itchy outbreak, nothing that affects breathing thankfully. She'll have her meds with her, always carries them with her. Just didn't want one outside the resort window type of thing, hence us avoiding the cabins and campgrounds for anything more than a quick walk through to Hoop-Dee-Doo.

Just a thought, I've noticed my pollen/seasonal allergies have been a lot better since having to wear a mask, so maybe it won't be so bad.

That said, pines, spruces and evergreens are all over Disney, but the highest concentration is probably at Fort Wilderness.
