Have shortlisted a villa on this development but have never stayed east of Disney before.

Any comments on the area, the development, Poinciana Blvd traffic, getting to the parks, eating etc

Ta :thumbsup2

Hi,we stayed at cumbrian lakes last August and had a fab time lovely villa
we never had any problems with traffic but then we are not early risers so didnt do early mornings at any of the parks. It took about 10-15 mins to get to disney longer to universal etc.there were lots of places to eat on the 192 as well as publix etc :sunny:

Have stayed at Cumbrian Lakes before and it is very nice, although they were still building on the development when we were there.

Poinciana Boulevard is a very long and sometimes busy road, however the traffic moves fairly quickly, 50 mph or so most of the time.

I would say from the junction of the 192 it's 10 minutes or so to the CL entrance, you will see many other developments such as Indian Point, Liberty Village etc down there.

The nearest Publix is at the junction of Vineland Road on the 192, pretty convenient, with restaurants, Old Town etc within easy reach too.

Distance to Disney probably 20 minutes or so, Universal through the I4 about 30.

We liked Cumbrian Lakes too - fairly straightforward to get ot Disney and Universal using the Osceola Parkway. Handy for shops, places to eat too - minutes form the WalMart at Medieval Times, but that one can get a but busy.

Would definitely think about staying there again! :thumbsup2

When we stayed at Cumbrian Lakes, I was pleasantly surprised by the journey time to WDW. CL is 4 miles from the 192 along Poinciana Blvd - a very straight, open road. When you hit the 192, you just need to cross it and then travel a few hundred yards before turning left onto the Osceola Parkway (the road that runs along the bottom of WDW property). When we were there, the toll was 50c (to join and exit the Osceola Parkway at that point). I think it's now 75c. Publix is also just across the 192 where Poinciana Blvd meets it.
