Very cool that you got to stay at AoA! Good TA information you are getting!

I will hang my head and admit...not a fan of Illimuntions. I am looking forward to seeing the new show, whatever it may be.

We had actually decided not to return to the parks, but with the opening of Galaxy's Edge, I wouldn't be able to keep DH from there if I tried. I believe we will be returning for a fall 2020 trip.

I'm with you on that OopsiDAISY, last time we watched Illuminations we found ourselves watching the Magic Kingdom show off in the distance instead. LOL

Looks like a souvenier from the Snuggly Duckling!

Sure does!

That's what I told John! I personally loved the room and the resort.

I've always enjoyed Illuminations but did think that they needed to figure out a way for more people to be able to see the globe. If you were far away, it was hard to see and understand what was going on.

Girl, you know that he is going to want to be there!

I know that it probably costs Disney oodles of money to replace a nighttime show (or any entertainment for that matter) but it would be nice if they could change things up every two or three years so that those who goes often see something new.

Come on in! The key's under the mat!

When I'm planning our vacations, I like to factor in some "sleep in and not be rushed" time for John. We've found that it's essential for him to have that time to get the extra rest and have a day that is not so go go go. Today was that day for us. Y'all don't know how hard it is for me to do nothing. I'm not a do nothing, sit around kind of person. Neither is John, when we are at home. On vacation, it doesn't bother him one bit to have a day like today.

We had Fastpasses at Hollywood Studios but they weren't until later in the day. We weren't up and at 'em and leaving the resort until around 11:00 a.m. or so. Apparently, I didn't take many pictures this day and what I did take are pretty bad. But, in the interest of telling the story, I'll post them anyway. I mean, what is a trip report without pictures? Words. It's just words. I like words but who wants to have just words. Oh word word word. Bird is the word.

The picture above is the first that I am finding on my camera roll. I'm wondering if I had my camera in my backpack. It's very possible because the weather forecast called for cooler temps that evening and I had stuffed a jacket and a hoodie into the backpack. I could have stuffed the camera in there too. Who knows?

Anyway, I know that we visited Muppetvision 3D at some point. At the time we got in line, there was absolutely no need for a Fastpass, as a matter of fact, there was no cast member working the line at all.
100_0317 (1024x768).jpg

And there was no one at the window either. But, we were told to go on in 'cause the key is under the mat.
100_0318 (1024x768).jpg
and just about the time John was getting the key, a whole bunch of people came up behind us and I moved at the same time as my finger hit the button.
100_0319 (1024x768).jpg

The preshow had already started when we walked in and I was only able to grab this one picture.
100_0320 (1024x768).jpg
The show was cute as always and John didn't even nap. Shocker! He usually nods off in all shows. Guess it was because he slept in this day.

We walked through the store and spent a little time looking at these displays.

100_0322 (1024x768).jpg

I seem to remember that we went to the Little Mermaid show after seeing Muppetvision 3D. From there, we made our way over to our next Fastpass which was Tower of Terror.

100_0323 (1024x768).jpg

For many many years, this was a no-freaking-way attraction for me. I was terrified of it and wouldn't even think of trying it. About seven or eight years ago, I sucked it up and rode with John while the kids sat in the store and prayed for me. They really truly prayed for me because they thought that I would freak out. I did freak out but in a good way and I turned right around and jumped back in line. Don't ever underestimate the power of prayer folks!

As we walked through the Fastpass line, I stopped and took a couple of picture that actually turned out pretty decent.

A castmember waved at us and told us that the pre show was just about to start. We were the last ones in the room. And, then, in no time at all, we were in the boiler room and asked "how many". Two please.

I have always wanted to take pictures while we are going through the Tower of Terror and even video of the drops and lifts and drops and lifts. But, honey, there ain't no way this girl is going to attempt it. I have my arms wrapped around John in a death grip. John said to give him the camera and he'd take pictures.

100_0327 (1024x768).jpg
Okay, so that's not so bad.
100_0328 (1024x768).jpg
Um okay. Not sure what that is.

Guess that's the twilight zone. Oh gosh, we are moving again!

Baby it's cold outside!

In the update above, I think that I referred to us going to Tower of Terror to use our "next Fastpass" when actually that was our first Fastpass of the day. Our second Fastpass was for Star Tours. Normally I don't book Fastpasses that require us backtracking or zig zagging across the parks. However, it was required for our half day at Hollywood Studios. We left Tower of Terror and walked allllll the way across the park to Star Tours.

Luckily for us, the Fastpass line was non existent. Unluckily for you, that meant that I snapped just three pictures and did so while walking. Even though I have been documenting our trips (not just Disney but anywhere we go) in pictures for years now, John still has this thing about me stopping and taking pictures. He thinks that someone is going to come along behind me and want to get by and I'll be blocking the line. He still thinks that it is even weirder that I take pictures of food. He lets me do it but he thinks it is odd. I never said that I'm not odd!
He is not on social media at all (unless you count him watching you tube) and he doesn't realize how many people take food pictures. Keeping that in mind, I do try to keep moving or try to snap pictures of food quickly.

Star Tours is always fun even though I couldn't tell you one little thing about Star Wars. Well, okay, so I know there R2D2 and Chewbacca and Darth. Oh and Luke and Leia. What they do not a clue. Bad or good? Not a clue. Thankfully, you don't have to know anything about Star Wars in order to enjoy Star Tours.

Our last Fastpass for the day was for Rock n Roller Coaster which meant we had to go back to the other side of the park. We zoomed down the freeway and sang along with Aerosmith while doing so. Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun! Did I say fun? It was fun!

What else did we do? I have absolutely no clue. I just realized that I could look at my saved itinerary on my computer and it says that we could eat lunch and/or dinner at the park. Do I know if we did? Nope.

What I do know is that the temperature dropped at some point and I pulled out my zippered hoodie and posed for a blurry picture.

100_0353 (1024x768).jpg

and that I took some pictures of the Christmas decorations.

100_0352 (1024x768).jpg

100_0355 (1024x768).jpg

Even though my notes don't say what we did, I do think that we called it a day/night and went back to the resort. If I find some "hidden" pictures somewhere, I may have to come back and change up these posts.

**Up next: Poop? This is really poop? Get out the firehose!

Agreed! I just rode Star Tours for the first, second and third time ever on my trip last month and loved it! :thumbsup2

The movies, I have tried to watch several times through the years and just can't get into them. :confused3

I've tried to watch them too and I don't get it. I simply don't get it.

Man, I joined this report at the right time. You are zooming right along!

On ToT I hold on to the sissy handles on the seat. I have found that this keeps my stomach from going up into my chest on the drops.

LOVE me some RnR!!!

I cannot handle ST, I get motion sickness. Same for Misson Space, either side.

Oh, poor John. He is so oblivious to our food porn addiction over here. :rolleyes1

I'm zooming now but was going at a snail's pace before.

I tried that too but I guess I feel more secure hanging onto John. LOL

Me tooooooooo!

My sister was the same way. After one round of Star Tours, she was about almost up chucking.

Oh, poor John. He is so oblivious to our food porn addiction over here. :rolleyes1

You would think that he would be used to is. We took our April, 2019 road trip this past weekend and I went to take pictures of his shrimp poyboy and he just rolled his eyes and went "seriously".

A stellar shrimp po-boy is serious business and worthy of photography! I’ve been away from NOLA for almost 25 years and miss them to this day!

Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! All caught up and can't wait to read more. Your trip reports are always entertaining and I love getting to know your family a little from the reports. I still use my back sack that you made for me several years ago and always get asked where they can get one too! I also got a pillowcase dress and it's now on its 4th owner and has made a trip to Disney with each new owner! Thanks for posting about your adventures!

Still here! I admire your dedication in getting to the finish line on this TR. Your love for Disney always shines through.

Both of our shrimp dishes were very good and very picture worthy.

Wow! It makes me feel good that you are still reading about my family's adventures. The backsack and dress are getting some good use! Yay!

I am stubborn and just can't give up finishing this one up. Even after all that we've been going through the past year. I'm gonna get it done!

Yay so happy to read the new updates. Lil Mermaid suite is some awesome Pixie Dust.

Good morning! I hope that you all day a wonderful weekend!
My boss is out of town today and tomorrow. Once I get my desk cleaned off, I will be posting more updates. I am ready to get started on our 2018 family vacation report but I know that there's no way I can handle two going at once. Heck, I've struggled to keep this one going. I am one determined motha though so it will get done.

Y'all hold onto your britches 'cause mega updates will be posted soon!

Sleep in and Hollywood Studios revisited

As I was going through my pictures for the next update, I found pictures! We did, in fact, sleep in. I took the first picture at 10:30ish a.m. We were walking from our building (building 7) in the Little Mermaid section of Disney's Art of Animation Resort. It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

About to enter the Lion King suites area of the resort.

Don't look now but there are hyenas atop those rocks!

The main pool wasn't very busy. Of course, it was November 20th and, while the sun was shining, it was a tad bit on the nippy side.

I love all of the bright colors at Art of Animation.

See that folding sign in the middle? I believe that's the sign saying that they would be serving a Thanksgiving meal.

During our stay, they were doing some work on one of the bus stops. The Magic Kingdom stop, I believe. As you already know, we were headed to Hollywood Studios today. Luckily, our chariot was pulling in as we were walking to the stop.
