This is not a scam. There is no hidden costs. There is no enrollment fee. I signed up yesterday so I don't really know how much I will be saving except that I will be charged about 9 cents vs. 12 cents per kilowatt hour. It is BBB approved. The website also states that they will be offering it to NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA and RI in the future.

I just signed up for NJ. I recently just switched my gas provider (effective about a week ago) and should save about 28%.

In in CT. We just switched from PP&U to Direct Energy. I'm getting 10,000 AA miles for switching. I can change back after one billing cycle to UI or PP&U or anyone from the list that we choose. There are several now in CT for UI customers to choose from, not just PP&U. For UI customers check the website for the list...uinet.com.

I just checked my monthly bill and after multiplying their rate times my usage the savings were about $1 per month (rate x kwh). National Grid also charges fees such as Renewable Energy and a Customer charge so I'd want to know what PP and U charges in "fees" which after checking their website I couldn't find detailed. It's not worth it to me to switch for $12/year - which is no where near the 12% they claim.
