We will be staying at CSR in May and I just booked Hoop de Doo. We will have a rental car. Is it difficult to get there? How long will we need? From what I see we will have to park and take the internal bus, am I correct? Thanks for any info. I tried searching but most post are for folks using disney transportation not rental cars.

You should ask this in the dining section but from what I saw, you can drive there. It's not that far from your resort. Make sure you're there extra early like they tell you though.

Yes, you're correct - but especially if you're going to one of the later shows and as long as MK is open... take the bus from your resort to the MK, then the boat to Fort Wilderness. Following each of the last two shows, there will be buses right near the HDDR building to take Guests back to their respective resorts.

I second this approach! We've done it both ways - using Dis transport and using our rental car... and I preferred the Disney transport. I thought it was confusing and took a long time to take the internal buses around Fort Wilderness.

We are going to the first show. Is it still better to just park at MK and take the boat over?

Eh,,, 50/50. As long as Magic Kingdom is open later than 7, sure. Then you can just take the boat back to MK and the bus back to your resort. But given the timing, it's entirely up to you. You'll be transferring to a bus no matter which route you choose.

I would take Disney trans., for one thing, you can only drive to the entrance to the campgrounds, then transfer to their internal bus system anyway. I would take the boat from the MK right to the docks at FW, a few minutes walk from there right to Hoop-dee-doo. Leave plenty of time for waiting for a boat and it will take time for the boat to get there but a very relaxing ride. We don't take the bus to FW as you have to switch to the internal buses with that too. There are buses to take you right to your resort after dinner. The buses run 1 hour after park closing, so if you take a boat back right after the show, you will be fine.

Gonna throw one teeny tiny thing in. HDDR is all inclusive, including certain adult beverages. IF you happen to plan to partake in that, please use WDW transport :). Not saying you were or werent or even if you knew that, I'm just sayin :) :cool1:

If you're gonna :drinking1 please dont :drive: :thumbsup2

We'll be going to HDDR in May as well! We go to the HDDR each visit, and always go to the first show. We drive to WDW and find it much easier just to take Disney transportation from the resort or the park we are visiting to get to the show rather than drive the car to FW. The only reason I think I would drive a car to either FW or the MK lot is if I was at a park that closed early and I was afraid I couldn't get transportation back over to pick my car up from that park once HDDR was over.

If you do choose to drive over, you'll need to be sure to allow ample time b/c no matter what you'll have to use some form of Disney transportation to get where you need to go.

Have fun!!
