CSR Room Categories and Construction

We booked a free dining package at the CSR for the 2017 Christmas break. The rooms we booked are categorized as water view. The section that we really don't want to be in is the Ranchos. The CM that I spoke with said that water view category rooms are not found in the Ranchos. We have stayed in the Cabanas and really enjoy the tropical feel. The CM said that he inserted a request for Cabana rooms. He also said that we would not be near the construction. Is that possible? Any idea where the construction will be at over the holidays? And any idea where the room refurbs will stand? We've never stayed in the Casitas section. Is it nice? Should we request a room there instead of the Cabanas to avoid construction noise?

Thanks for any help!

Unfortunately the CM you spoke with was incorrect. There are water view rooms in Ranchos. We've stayed in one. If you can see the pool, that's considered water view. Surprisingly, we really enjoyed our room in Ranchos. It was really quiet, close to the bus stop and a quick walk to the main pool, with a quiet pool right outside our room.

Given the teardown of cabanas 9B it is also wrong about being away from construction.

Ranchos is actually your best odds of being away from construction IMO.

This refurb and construction project is an 18+ month project.

^ THIS.

The construction of the tower is right next to Cabanas as it will be on an old Cabana building site. The remainder of the construction will be in lake area in front of Cabanas and in view/noise range of some Casitas.

Your safest bet from all noise/views is Ranchos, which is our favorite so we are good ....... but if you don't like it, you may have to deal with the sounds/sites of the construction.

Thanks for all of the help! When the phone lines settle down, I will call and ask someone to change the request to non-Ranchos, quiet area. We live along the lake in Ohio, which means that for 7 months of the year, we have gray skies, a brown lake, brown land and brown trees. I spent one night in the Ranchos last fall and couldn't wait to leave the area and get to a place with color!
