Okay, need your opinions. We usually stay at moderate or deluxe Disney resort. This time we are also looking at either Swan or Dolphin. Please give advice (pros/cons) as to whether I should change from CSR to Swan/Dolphin. THANKS!

Two questions:

When are you going? Swan/Dolphin have great rates for AP now and for Labor Day.

Are you a teacher, nurse or government employee? They have great rates all year for these. I got the teacher rate for week between x-mas and new years(disney has no discount then unless you check-in before 12/19). We are trying the Swan , we are DVC members and rented out our OKW points to stay at Swan for location at New Year's Eve(from last year's experience, even though we love OKW).

We are going the week AFTER Thanksgiving. And YES I am a registered nurse.

I love the 10 WDW resorts we have stayed at though some are not as compelling as others for personal tastes but not all Deluxes rate that much higher than the moderates for me. I have stayed at CSR twice and really like it. We finally tried the Dolphin in 2001 and really enjoyed it here. The room was nice and we were upgraded to a balconey room with a great view. Everyone was nice and the location was definately better than CSR. There were many more food options to pick from in the area. If you can get a good price I say go for it!

This is too funny! We were booked at CSR for Thanksgiving. When the AP special came out for the Swan/Dolphin, I went through the exact same debate. We had CSR booked for $118 (including tax), the Swan was $164 (including tax + $10 resort fee). Substantial difference for our budget.

We went with the Swan. We'll have Queen sized beds (there are 4 of us). We can walk to Epcot (my favorite resort) or boat to MGM. We have plenty of food choices with the S/D, Boardwalk and Epcot so close. Hopefully we'll have a balcony and a view. For me, the Queen beds pretty much decided it. My DH is a bed hog. At 5'7" and 150lbs, he still manages to take up a LOT of room. I know I'll have a much better trip!

I love the CSR and it's pool area, but the chance of us swimming in November were iffy. We're Florida residents, so when the temp dips into the 70s, we're in sweaters! :)

You'll have a great time no matter which one you pick!

I walk fast and it was a 7-12 minute walk. For those who are a little less hurried it would be 10-15 minutes.
