Here's the issue........My DH and I will be staying at Coronado Springs in September for the first time. We are both very excited about it and have heard lots of great things about the resort. We have been to the resort and scoped it out and we were gonna request the Casitas but now we are leaning toward the Ranchos. It is just the two of us (we have no kids) and distance is not an issue (ie Ranchos). We also feel that the Ranchos will be a little more laid back and quiet but I'm not sure that's an issue either. Sorry, but now we can't decide. I would really like to hear your opinions......maybe we are missing something.

We stayed there in the Cabanas. The Ranchos was my favorite and when we walked back there it was almost TOO quiet. It seemed like those buildings were empty. I think it is a lovely area!!

We were in Castias 5 and it was a great location. It was very quiet back there and right next to the Ranchos section. If you would like the Castias just request buildings 4 or 5 and you will probably be fine. The entire resort is beautiful and you really can't go wrong.

We have a resort map and actually thought about Casitas bldg 5 since that would be close to the Ranchos. We will think more about that. I'm sure its all nice but ya know how it is? The slightest details matter to me.....doesn't seem to bother my dh...he's just happy being there.

ps...Susy, "Go Gators" I was looking on someones trip report yesterday and noticed your reply about going to school there. I hope that was you, haha. My dh and I are also big"Gator fans"

We have stayed at CSR and I was going to answer until I saw the "gator" remark. We went to FSU...GO noles!

Ok, I'll go ahead and answer for a gator fan, though you probably won't listen to a 'nole opinion! ;) I think that the ranchos look like apartment buildings. I did not like the looks of them, rather depressing! Glad we were in the Cabanas:D . I loved the looks of the Casitas too and would not hesitate to book there. This was our "alone" trip without the kids and rancho's were still too far away. We enjoyed the hammocks near the cabana's one evening. :D The Ranchos did appear to be closed during this trip last Sept-maybe during slow times they shut them down? Anyway, enjoy CSR, it is a beautiful place. We plan to take the kids there for one of our trips next year. BTW-they upgraded us to lake view, king bed when I faxed that DH and I were visiting without the kids and would like to be in the Cabana's. :D

Stayed there in early June and LOVED IT! Didn't think it looked like apts at all.

Good luck with your choice! :smooth:

Bibbidibobbidiboo, that's funny.....ya know I hesitated to put that on there but I couldn't resist. We may not have "universities" in common but at least we have "Disney" in common huh? Thanks for your input I promise I will consider your "nole" advise!

I do like the Ranchos but I don't want to feel "lost" back there. Cabanas are nice too. We didn't want to get caught up in the convention croud at the casitas either but we are still debating and probably won't completely make up our minds till we get there and drive around the place before we check in. We shall see........Wow! didn't know this was gonna be so tough!

We requested to stay in Ranchos 7B when we statyed at CSR this past May. The location was the best. We were far enough away to enjoy some quiet time, but close to other things. We were about 2 minute walk to the DIG SITE. The quiet pool was located right around the corner from our room, and the bus stop was a 3 minute walk. We could see the bus stop from our room. Also one thing I liked about the Ranchos section was that we had a view of a small vegetation area that always had rabbits wondering around in the yard. It was a great location!! Hope this helps!!:)

I have stayed in the Cabanas and Ranchos. The Casitas, while pretty remind me to much of a hotel. I loved the ranchos. I thought the theme was well done and it was atmospheric and quiet at night. The room decore is more muted than at the Cabanas and Casitas. The walk to the main pool was easy. The walk to the food court was easy though about 7-10 minutes. I enjoyed the cabanas as well but they were just a hair bland.

Hey P'cola we are also from Pensacola and are going to CSR in September ( Sept 29-Oct 6 ). It is a small world after all :D
