I guess I've decided to request Cabanas (even though I love the look of Casitas). I've been thinking for the evening trips to the hot tub I don't want too long of a walk back the room (It can be very chilly at night in February!).
Would Cabanas 8A & 8B be the closest. From looking at the map on the DIS I think they are the closest.
Thanks for your help!

I am in the same situation. Requested the Casitas because I like the look of them, although I think the Ranchos look pretty neat now too. But we are going beginning of Dec. and I know it will be chilly for swimming, therefore didn't want to have too long of a walk when getting out of the pool/hot tub and going back to room. I cannot decide what to do. If I should change my request or not? The look of the Cabanas are my least favorite out of all of the buildings.

If the hotub is high on your list I would go for the Cabanas. We stayed in Casitas 3 and I really wanted to go one night. DH did not. But we had taken a walk around the resort and absolutely no one was at the pool. I was too uncomfortable to go alone. ( would have felt that way anywhere as well) But also did not want to make the walk....

O.K., I think I am going to forget about the Casitas and actually am thinking of requesting the Ranchos. I think it looks like they are close to the Dig Site and I like the look of them 2nd best to the Casitas. Does anybody know if these buildings would be convenient to the main pool/jacuzzi?

Rancho 7b is close to the main pool area where the hot tub is located and also has a quiet pool. It's a nice spot.

Thank you. This is what I have requested. Hopefully we will get it. Getting late (around 8pm) so not sure if we will get a request or not.

After spending alot of time looking at pictures of the different areas of the resort Cabanas is our least favorite too. My favorite is the Casitas but they look too far away from the main pool area. My husband thought Ranchos looked neat so since he's paying for this trip I'm going to request Ranchos 7B too!
Thanks Buzz for all your help!:)

I requested Cabana 9B but we are also arriving late. We won't get to CSR until around 10pm from the airport so I am thinking this building will be full. Maybe they will upgrade me to suite?? Wishful thinking- what a great christmas present from disney. No they will probably stick me in the boonies!!

Rancho 7b is more green than the rest of the ranchos. Its a nice spot and has the quiet pool. Enjoy!

Good, that is my request. Thank you. I hope we like this resort. I'm hearing the beds are hard, walls are thin, bathrooms are small, no balconies, etc. We have always stayed in Deluxe and I certainly don't want to be a hotel snob, so I'm going to be fine with CSR no matter what. After all, it's Disney.:woohoo: How bad can it be??:confused3

I have pics on my CSR website below of rancho 7b. Lots of trees surround this building.

This shot is from the path leading to the main building and pool.
