CSR Casitas or Cabanas?

We are going to CSR in late July with 2 teen boys in a standard room. The Cabanas look appealing because of its proximity to the Dig Site and a bus stop. But, are the buses usually full by the time they get to the Cabanas? Does anyone know how long of a walk it is from Casitas to the Dig Site?

Thanks!

Cabanas wins hands down for proximity to everything. Casitas is far from pretty much anything. Cabanas is the last stop on the buses though. As a plus you immediately leave CSR once picked up. As a minus the bus may be full. If you want a guaranteed seat(and a long loop around) walk from Cabanas to the Destino bus stop, which is the first stop. Note that most Cabanas room will have an additional charge for a preferred location room.

We prefer the Cabanas to the Casitas. The Casitas are the preferred rooms at CSR, the Cabanas are standard rooms (the Casitas are the ones with the upcharge for preferred). We like the vibe of the Cabanas more so than the Casitas and like the proximity to the dig site, the tower and El Centro. I love laying in a hammock by Lago Dorado in the evenings on the beach in front of the Cabana rooms. As the previous poster stated you also have the option of walking to Bus Stop 1 or Bus Stop 4

We have only stayed at the Casitas, bldg #3, one time. Never stayed at the Cabanas.
We liked the location of Casita #3. I believe it is a preferred bldg now?
It was the closest to the Main building for food, etc. We loved the tropical courtyards and the rooms were big to us. Maybe they seemed big because it is a convention resort. Our bus stop was the first one, so that worked out. That was years ago and I don't know how the new Tower layout affects things, but we were very satisfied with the Casitas.

Casitas buildings 1-3 our preferred and 4-5 are standard. Now, with the new bridges, it is pretty easy to get to the dig site from buildings 4 & 5 and the bus stop is very close to those buildings as well. We like the theme of the Casitas but the location of the Cabanas.

Thanks each of you! I didn't realize the first bus stop was at the Tower, I thought it was at Casitas. I really like the idea of staying in Cabanas for their proximity to the Dig Site, and the ability to walk to the Tower's bus stop if I want. But, staying in the Casitas sounds pretty nice too. Sounds like we win either way, I just don't want the Ranchos.

It's all preference really but we have stayed in all 3 sections and preferred the Casitas. The style of the buildings are my favorite by far. And all the fountains in that area of the resort are beautiful :lovestruc Plus with the bridge there now its not really that far to the Dig Site. Especially if you're in 1-3. Either way I'm sure you will have a fantastic time!

Casitas would be closer to El Centro. The Tower may have Bus Stop # 1 but it is only the first stop for Disney Springs. Casitas has the first incoming bus stop from/to the parks. El Centro is basically between Casitas and the Tower. The main pool is accessible from pretty much everywhere. Casitas has a quiet pool on the way to the bus stop. The shortest route from the Casitas to El Centro is generally right around the lake. I tried other short cuts through the fountain areas, but they were slightly longer. Cabanas look nice, but they are a bit more inconvenient. Ranchos are the most inconvenient - we stayed there first. Both Preferred and Tower rooms are still a couple minute walk to El Centro.
