CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

OK, I'll oblige. After my first one going on for hours and they finally had to get him out with tongs (they put me out first), I decided to have the second one with an epidural. They induced labor around 7am, and she was born around 10:30, not time for epidural, aggghhh! But at least if was fast.

Marita, oh my word! That first delivery doesn't sound plesant AT ALL!! No epidural with the second wasn't great, but like you said, at least it went fast. In my first labor with DS from first twinge cramp to birth, it was 11hours, 5 of which I was at home waiting for the contractions to get close enough to warrant being stuck at the hospital. DH was pretty nervous so he flew to the hospital and we actually had a cop following us there, but when he saw me get out of the car, he left.

In my labor with DD, it was really fast, almost scary because there was no isolette to put her in and my midwife literally had to run up the stairs to make the birth. She has scared DH to death because I really wan't feeling heavy contractions until shortly before I started pushing and she has said if this one comes in the same pattern we might not make it to the hospital in time. YIKES, YIKES!!!

Buzz, you may want to check out the new "Be our Guest" too, although it maybe hard to get a reservation (dinner only?). Its fast food for lunch and table service for dinner. The first day that was open to make reservations, the CRO lines broke down due to overwhelming volume of calls.

Here's a link to the menus for anyone interested:
http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm#mk

I think my mom would really like to see "Be Our Guest" so I think we are going to try to have CS there. Maybe it's going to balance out, at least on the wallet, that we didn't get to go in August. Eating in TS restaurants a good bit isn't cheap, but there are some really great places to take newcomers so it will be fun to see their reactions. I just need to remind them to remove the tails from the shrimp at Ohana, less we have a repeat of that gem of a Nebo experience! ;)

Nebo, that was a really funny chapter! I laughed out loud a few times, attracting the attention of the family who swarmed over to see why I was laughing so hard.

First off, I have to tell you that DS LOVED your "Poop de doo doo" comment. So we now have confirmation that your sense of humor is endorsed and approved by a seven year old! ;)

DH fully understands your Doritos razor blade pain. He has suffered the same fate quite a few times. In that vein, have you by chance tried the Frito Lay Munchies Cheese Fix Snack Mix? It has Cheetos, Doritos, pretzels, and cheese sun chips in a mix and let me tell you .......it is SNACK MIX CRACK!!! Seriously, this stuff it addictive, I don't know what it is about the combo of flavors but it is really tasty. The ingredients by themselves I can be "meh" on, but together......let's just say we rarely have this in the Buzz household because it is entirely too tempting! :sad2:

I think Jambo House is super dark as well. It is hard for me to see in there, especially when I am coming in from sunlight outside. I feel your pain....at least to a small extent.

I can't wait to hear about Jackson's reaction to Pop! My kids love it!

I'll be back "oftenly"........

You are really enjoying dragging this out, aren't you, Nebo?

I think this calls for more birthing stories!

weeelllll, since you asked.....I can't decide which to share ...having a premie at a teaching hospital which meant that EVERY intern was crowded into the room staring directly "ground zero".... My husband and doctor watching Regis and Kathy Lee in the middle of me getting my water broke , because Styx was playing.....or the x-rated birthing pictures my aunt took and I unknowing took them to the 1 hour photo.......:rotfl2:

Sorry....Just couldn't help myself.

Nebo...you've gotta stop with the cliff hangers! You're killing us! ;)

I love that Smidgy moved the garbage can from view...I would have done the same thing.

Did you guys stumble upon an "offical" private party or just a bunch of hooligans?

I'm a little worried about the connecting vs. adjoining rooms....it could have caused several sorts of embarassing moments...:crowded:

Oh my Lord of the Rings....I love that stuff! I'm not big on chips but that stuff is dangerous!

We headed over there about 8:3o in the morning , we were told there'd be about a 10 minute wait for the internal shuttle, so we said heck with it, and drove ourselves over and parked.
wasn't as easy as all that. we ended up getting totally turned around and ended u in an employee's parking lot, which we had hard time finding our way OUT of!

Oh, before we go any further, I was remiss in my last chapter and left something out. This was a "you probably had to be there" situation, but at the time I thought it was really funny.

Before the Yellow Jackets started and before the Podium Animal Talker guy was rounding up kids to play games next to me, we were both just sitting in loungers next to each other, reading, when we heard this God-awful scraping sound that kept getting louder, and we both looked up.

From our left, here comes a young, strapping cast member dragging a lounge chair past us until he disappeared in the distance to our right.
We both just glanced at each other and shrugged, went back to reading.

20 minutes later, now, from our right, same, young strapping cast member has now herded up a new lounge chair, and is half carrying, half dragging said lounger back to the original starting position, somewhere off to our left, and disappeared again. Even the cast member podium bird answering guy just stood there with his head slowly moving left to right, just watching.

Smidgy and I glanced at each other once again, only this time she provided the much needed "caption" to this little ongoing cartoon:

"Wonder what a good "chair walker" makes exercising chairs at Disney?"
um, we didn't know if it was a dif. lounge chair or not. It looked exactly the same, and looked like he frist dragged it one way, then a bit later back again. which was why it was hilarious when I drolly said "I guess it's his job to take the loungers for a walk"
It was perfect timing:
I laughed, and even the stoic bird talking cast member heard her and laughed himself.
at which point the CM "broke stance" and started cracking up!!

Even with our pick of the "table and loungers" litter, they have that inner ring and outer ring thing going on here too, we ended up choosing a spot right where the outer ring went in to the pool. There wasn't any tables right next to the pool.

As we just settle into our lounge chairs, not 2 minutes later, I hear a "Tsk, tsk".
Yep, no doubt, Smidgy is unhappy about something.

I can try and ignore it, which means it will now persist until the end of time or the Cubs win the pennant, whichever comes first, or I can get it over and ask,,,,,,,

"What's the matter, pratell?"

"Well what do you think is the matter?"
Uh oh, gonna have to maybe work at this one.

"Look at this, we have a great spot, we can at least see a good section of the pool from here and no I'm not crazy about the ping pong table between us and the pool, but who plays ping pong when it's 95 out, but right in front of us, ritht over there on the right, is a garbage can!"

Well, she was right.
One of those enclosed square garbage cans was sitting there as you walk to the inner section, the kind with the side doors that open when the cast member changes the bag. The kind that says, "Push" on one side.

"it's ruining the whole view!"

"Well, I';m sorry, " I told her, "Not much we can do about that, though. You don't want to move, do you?"

"No."

One final "Tsk" and that was it.

Or so I thought.

Not ten minutes later I heard this terrible scraping sound, and almost jumped out of my lounger.
looking around, you got it, there's Smidgy dragging the whole square container through the opening, around the corner where it was now just out of sight.
She came back with a big smile on her face.

Sweaty, but smiley.
and shortly there after, the first of about 5 dif. "pairs" of people started playing ping pong. one duo even brought over a radio with some rap music playing. I started singing "la la la dee de di de do to the tune of the african music in the background.. loudly!!!! "gee, steve, don't you just LOVE the african music in the background?" they got the not-so-subtle hint and turned ther "music" off.
I know, I know, I'm an old crabby lady... but I knew later on we would be deluged with yellow jacket music, and I wanted to enjoy the "theme" music while I could!

and, oh.. the garbage can, it was about 45 minutes when a janitor type CM walked by, looked at the garbage can in the new place, tsk tsked, shook his head, and moved it back to block out view. harrumph!!!:(

.

This time though, when the Yellow Jackets moved in, and yes, they were over here as well, we were ready to go.
I considered one more dip in the pool, but remembered we drove over, and my suit was dry right now.
and, it was started to drizzle anyway, which turned into a ful blown rain. . we made it to the car in the nick of time.

We requested adjoining rooms in the fifties, second floor.
actually, I requested bldg. 3, which I thought was so clever!!! I heard if a request is important, don't list too many, or you might get the other 2 and not the imp. one. so by saying bldg 3, it took care of the 50s section AND the lake view request in one swell swoop! (we didn't pay for preferred or pool view)

Hopefully, we'll at least be close, and on the same floor, they don't have to be right next to each other, but, well, you know, walking distance.
we didn't ask for connecting for 2 reasons. we wanted to be considerate of those who really needed it(like a family with 4 kids) AND Todd really didn't want connecting rooms. heck, I thought maybe (for about a milisecond) it would be cool to get a suite at AOA, since there would be 5 of us, but Todd and Steve almost went for my throat!!

Did not get fifties, instead, we were put in the sixties, and area that was still "preferred".
We asked for second floor, and we got it.
We asked for adjoining, and instead, even got 'connecting'.

Our rooms faced a courtyard, if you walked to the end of the hall/walkway on one end you looked right at the lake.
Walking to the other sides end had you looking right down on the Hippy Dippy Pool! This was right where the elevators and staircase and ice was.

In other words,,, a REALLY convenient room. Rooms.

Nope, not changing nuttin!
it faced the dreaded "laundry roundabout, which I dislike, but it still was a free upgrade to preferred. the rooms we were back to back to would have been just as convenient, but a lake view, but I didn't want to mess with anything, since they told us it was guaranteed that they would not give the other room to anyone else.
.

and todd and kimmy were VERY happy with the location of the room it was so convenient!!! but it turns out that the connecting part was not such a good thing....:rolleyes2

I'm sure they'll be happy to downgrade you, but we had a great preferred room in the sixties,,, um,, why don't you want that?

I don't want to be anywhere by a pool. We will be going to the room in the afternoons so DD can nap and I feel like it will be too loud for any of us to relax, especially with the YJ activities that you're so fond of. And we're driving this trip and plan on using the car to drive to the parks most days, so I'd rather be closer to the parking lot. Last time I stayed there, we had a room in the 80's section. It was close to parking and the lake. Are there any preferred sections that you think would meet my criteria?

Nebo, The Nurse, THIS Nurse, needs to know what happens next. The dizziness doesn't Sit well with me and I keep thinking of worst case scenarios.
:scared::scared::scared::scared:

So, the last two times I've gone, was with DH's family- his parents, sister & bro-in-law and their kids... the inlaws all get connecting rooms. But there's no three-way connecting rooms.

Anyway- I feel like you're giving us "clues" to the Hammer situation... I keep reading and thinking... "I wonder if that's supposed to be foreshadowing?"

Also-- I had an odd dream that I was with Nebo & Smidgy in an airport, waiting for a plane. A plane to where? I'm not sure. But, we were all sitting there- and I don't know that I ever said anything-- and the two of them were talking up a storm and would randomly get up and change seats- on either side of me. What's that about?:crowded:

Good chapter, but I will admit that I skimmed through to the end to see if "it" happened in this chapter. When I realized it did not, I settled in and read the chapter at a more leisurely pace. :goodvibes

Thanks for admitting that.. I know I'm not the only one that did that..
Mr. Nebo sure knows how to put on a cliff hanger.. reels us in for the long haul!! LOL

Great pictures from AKL.. we've never stayed there, never even been to it... might have to put that one on the "todo" list! ;)

I would say the 70's section would be quiet, lakeside. there is no pool there at all. but.. there also is no parkign lot. so you are probably right you should request 80's nearest the lake and the mr. potato head.. the computer pool is closer to the 90's end of the 80's section.

aw!!!! we're in your dreams!!!!!:)

What a well written chapter! I really enjoyed it.

However, I'm a little freaked out about the crazy dizzy spell. Is it just me or did you mean to kind of gloss over it quickly?

Sounds like you got a great room! I'm glad that Smidgy didn't have to go bust some heads to get you a good location. :goodvibes She deserves a break!

Whkoopess
oh wait, that's way cool.
Ive never started out that poorly before. What time is it? Oh, three quarters to two, no wonder I'm useless at the keyboard.
( I love doing that to Monica, with the time difference she's still, trying to figure out what time it is now for me.

I love that Smidgy took it upon herself to move the trashcan! :) Love the Kidani pool area...had never been there before until last year when I took my niece and nephew. My nephew (4) loved the slide although he would only slide down half way and then stop himself...every time!

Jambo House is very dark! I can only imagine what's it like when you can't see well in the dark anyway.

Lurker here!
Great chapter! Just got back on Monday from a great room at Pop. Requested 50's standard. Got 50's pool view. Room 3208. It was a gorgeous view and right around the corner we could see the lake and AoA.

Again, you know I can only say nice things,,, you are the very best.

Well Shan, your well written chapter just desolved into a

"Help, what am I doing here post", and you know what?:]
\
I think I'm going to post under Smidgy's name from now on,,, yeha,,, yeah,,, I'm safe then, it can't be traced back to me! Cool, I like it.
Hold it, wait, can I post under Ponzi's name? That would be a lot more fun, and maybe then I can sue him for stealing my Iditarod. I mean Dentalty. Ok, give me back my Identalty,,, NOW,,, and I mean it. Good night.

Our last time at Pop we were in 60s building 4 on the wing that jutted out toward the lake, first floor in the last room. The lake was right outside our door. It was quiet and peaceful and the view was lovely. If I could remember the room number, I would ask for it every time.

Nice chapter, but once again, Dunh, Dunh, Dunh.....

Up until this morning, I was thinking, "How bad could the Hammer be? Nebo's still able to write a TR." Then I saw those last 2 posts, and I think, "Gosh, he's in bad shape. Maybe I should send flowers!":flower3:

After the disappointing Luau

Didn't respond after last chapter, but I had this booked for our recently cancelled trip. Glad I have this info now. If/when we get back it is off the list :-)

"Wonder what a good "chair walker" makes exercising chairs at Disney?"

:rotfl2: Good one Diane!:thumbsup2

I hear a "Tsk, tsk".

Not good

Yep, no doubt, Smidgy is unhappy about something.

Definitely not good!

the Cubs win the pennant

:lmao: I love the dream world you live in!

Boy, if we'd only known more on the importance of the defintion difference between "connecting" and "adjoining".

Let me put it this way, that evening, things did not go well.

Uh oh :scared:

So I noticed you didn't say anything about lunch in your last two updates. Are you not eating, or did you forget what you did?

Off-topic: would anyone like me to send them a postcard from WDW? We leave this Saturday morning. 5 days!!!
:figment:
